Bought this set with low expectations, but other reviews convinced me to grab em. Shipping was fast. Arrived in tact and as described. Bought these so my kids could take them on their dirt bikes and still communicate with us (the parents) if they got into trouble or needed help etc. Transmission is very good, loud and clear over our test distance of approx 100 meters in town. (yet to be tested in the woods). Hands free VOX works but it's not actually hands free, you need to push a button on the headset mic to transmit still, it's not voice activated. Our next question was can these little FRS radios receive transmissions from our Baofeng radio from base camp. The answer is yes, just reset you BF's and use FRS channel 1 and match that frequency on your BF to 462.562. However, we could not get these radios to be heard on the BF's. The green LED would light up and the transmit icon would turn on, but no sounds could be heard. After hours of trail and error we figured out that the BF had to be on the UHF band not the default VHF band. Change that and your good to go! Your welcome whoever is reading this. NOTE *This setup is for emergency use only*

Purchased these after our elderly neighbor needed help during the night in an emergency and they couldn't remember phone numbers...They waited in distress until morning.
We use radios at work on a resort so I had an 💡 idea.
Range is fine. Now all they have to do is press the button and talk for help.
The only thing I would change would be to have two separate charging cords. I keep getting it and charging it here when it needs to be about once a week so not bad.

1st and foremost this is not what it claims to be,
the vox is always on period,there is NO way of ever turning it off,
the PTT works but VOX always stays on again Period.
there is NO software to change this radio,
good luck trying to find people to talk to and ask questions about this radio.
even the store has now way of EVER chating with some one about this radio.
as for the hold number 7 down while turning on this radio - it dose not work.
at least not with the radio i received,
plus there was no charging cables, so �鶹��e refunded me and said
keep the radio its on us, cool

had to find an old gps from 20 years ago to find a cable that charges these radios.
cant use radios because the noise wont turn them off - seems am always transmitting.

what a waiste of money and time even if there free there not worth the bouther,.
