Incredibly Accurate
I am blown away with this affordable HR Monitor. I have attached a screen shot of my treadmill workout with Polar Beat app. I did walk jog intervals and compared HR with my watch. My Garmin watch was correct most of the time but would spike. This HR Monitor was spot on 100% of the time and I love it. Easy to sync within seconds. Easy to adjust size for fit. I cannot think of any way to improve this gem of a product

I bought this HRM to use with the Zwift app on a Windows PC. The HRM pairs and so far holds a stable connection via Bluetooth but the initial connection process was more difficult than I expected.

TL;DR: Put on the HRM, be patient through the initial pairing process.

The enclosed instructions are not very clear about the pairing process with an app such as Zwift. They note that you should not pair the HRM with a smartphone or PC; rather pair it with the app. For the initial pairing, I checked if the battery voltage was adequate (it was), then connected the transmitter to the chest strap and wore it. I then started Zwift on the PC and tried to pair with the HRM via Bluetooth. I waited a few minutes with no success. My smartphone could "see" the HRM via Bluetooth.

After about 10 minutes, I rebooted the PC, relaunched Zwift and tried again to pair with the HRM. After a short while, the HRM paired with no signal but picked up a heart rate signal eventually. During my next Zwift workout, the HRM paired fairly quickly, did not drop the signal and appeared to be accurate.

I bought this monitor last week and it wouldn't pair with my Peloton. In fact it didn't sho up as a pairing option on any of my other Bluetoon compatible devices. I return it, bought another, thinking it was defective - and same thing! This monitor also doesn't show up to pair on my Peloton or any other device I have. Putting in a new battery didn't help either. Disapointed. Not sure what else to do. It would seem odd that I got two defective units, especially when there are so many positive reviews.

I would have rated this 5/5, but I went for a long run on Monday and it worked no issues. When I went for another short run Tuesday, it wouldn't pair, and I can't get it to work now (multiple batteries tried etc). So it was great for a year and then just failed for no reason. Bear that in mind if you're going to buy.

This is a much cheaper F45 Lionheart device dupe. Works the exact same way and you can see your stats in the F45 app as well as Strava. I set it up in the F45 app under the Lionheart section (enter in the device ID which is on the back of the plastic device), and I walked into the studio and it worked immediately without having to turn on anything or manually start a workout on my watch.

Sensors do need to be wet to activate it though

I use this HRM for Spinning and Burpee sessions. I already had a Wahoo bike cadence sensor so I am using their app for my rides. This HRM was easy to connect with Wahoo, it was visible immediately. You do have to be wearing the HRM before trying to add it as a device to Wahoo. I can't comment much on water resistance, I haven't tried swimming in it. I do spray it down with antibacterial liquid after each use and it gets pretty wet then and also with sweat and I have had no problems so far. The readout from the HRM is constant and appears accurate compared to a Huawei wrist band. It has transformed my spin sessions as I can now target heart rate zones and sit in the fat burning zone for long periods and spike up to high HR doing increasing resistance climbs and be accurate about it. My theoretical max HR at age 52 is 168bpm and I am confident this is reading accurately as when I am working to exhaustion point in any exercise the HRM records in the high 160's and low 170's. The band is plenty long enough for me and I'm a 44 inch chest and there is spare band to expand, it also fits my son who is very lean and he can tighten it plenty far enough. I have just measured it and fully adjusted it is 42 inches unstretched and a massive 72 inches fully stretched. For you skinny folk it can be shrunk down to 24 inches if you get the rubber none slip backing near the front to go through the buckle but that would be a loose fit at 24-26 inches. I haven't had any issues at all with slipping. The device itself clips onto the band via two press studs which means it can be disconnected easily for washing and for washing the band. It's an absolute bargain compared with the Wahoo band and Polar brand. I have this and the cadence sensor connected via Bluetooth ANT+ or whatever it's called and can still have wireless headphones also connected to my phone. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this heart rate monitor! 😀
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 8, 2019

This is the first heart rate monitor that I have owned or used. I ordered it as a Christmas present to myself as I've recently got into running and wanted to track my fitness progress more systematically. I have looked into GPS watches with built-in heart rate monitors, but buying a chest strap monitor and linking it to my phone with bluetooth during my runs was a much cheaper option. The heart rate detection is supposed to be a little more accurate with a chest strap compared to a watch, and my phone takes care of tracking the other stats like pace, elevation, route etc with the fantastic Strava app.

The monitor arrived within two days and I was a little surprised at how small and light it was - it was posted through my letterbox easily enough. It comes with the battery already installed (it's a replaceable CR2032 watch battery) and there are no buttons or controls at all - it automatically turns on when you wear it and connect to it with bluetooth.

Working out how to use it the first time took a few minutes, but was no problem because it comes with decent instructions.
You simply don the chest strap, clip the monitor onto the front just under your ribcage in the middle and hook up to it with your wireless connection. As I said, I use Strava on my phone with bluetooth so I can't comment on connecting it to a watch or using ANT+ connection but it works very well for me. My phone detects it quickly and I haven't had any issues with the bluetooth connection cutting out.

The strap has an adjustable length and is made from a very stretchy soft neoprene-like material which is comfortable to wear - you want it tight enough around your chest that it's not going to move of course, but it doesn't feel restrictive. I'm a male with about a 39 inch chest and it fits me fine, with plenty of extra length if I needed it. As I said, the monitor itself is very small and light too so it's not a burden at all. I've done both races and 3+ hour long runs wearing it and have never had any chafing or discomfort. I haven't had a chance to try wearing it together with a hydration pack or chest lamp yet, but it's so unobtrusive that I don't think it'd be a problem.

According to the instructions you should wet the electrodes on the strap before putting it on to improve the conductivity through your skin, but I've found that it works perfectly well without.
After your workout you just take off the monitor and dry the sweat off it with a tissue, then rinse the strap under warm water and hang it up to dry until the next use.

I'm delighted with this product. I've used it for about a dozen workouts so far and it has been reliable and very useful. With this I can train in specific heart rate zones and get a more accurate calculation of how many calories I am burning in each workout. It's probably the most useful piece of running gear I have after my shoes and my phone, and one of the cheapest too. Of course, you can also use it for walking or cycling workouts etc. Not swimming though, as it's water resistant but not waterproof! Not a problem for me as I'm not taking on any triathlons (yet)!

I can also recommend the seller as the delivery was very quick and I received a friendly follow-up email asking if I was satisfied with the product.

In summary, I enthusiastically recommend this heart rate monitor to anyone who wants to take their workouts to the next level. I've found it to be reliable, good value and very useful. I now make sure I'm wearing it every time I lace up my running shoes!

4.0 out of 5 stars Spikey readings to start
Reviewed in Australia on September 27, 2021

Product arrived promptly and was as advertised.

I've only used it twice so far on a couple of runs (12k and 21k), so I probably still have some adjustments to make to get it right. I've paired it with a Garmin 245+music watch (using ANT+), and that process was dead easy. Once paired, it connects automatically as soon as it is strapped on, and I've had no problems with the connection dropping.

My issues so far are that the HR reading jumps to my maximum (or above) heart rate when I start jogging, and it doesn't settle down to an accurate reading until 1-2kms into the run. After that, the HRM seems to be accurate and is noticeably quicker to respond to changes in HR than the wrist-based HRM in my watch.
I suspect I need to tinker a bit more with the tightness and positioning of the strap, I may not have had it tight enough, so it's taking a while to lock into my actual heart rate.

This is the first chest strap I've ever tried, so I can't really compare the comfort level with other chest strap devices. It feels comfortable enough, although I do notice it there the majority of the time and it takes some getting used to.

Cleaning / drying is easy after each use. Adjusting the length of the strap is easy too .. but only while off the body .. bit hard to do when it's on.

In summary, happy enough so far, seems like a good product for a good price, I just need to tweak/test it a bit more to get it right for me.

UPDATE: think I got it sorted now. Took it for another run this morning. Beforehand, I wet the whole length of the plastic electrodes/contacts and tightened the strap a bit more. It read accurately for the whole run this time. I think previously, I wasn't wetting it enough before putting it on, so it was only kicking into gear once I started sweating and making proper contact with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great heart rate monitor

This is a great product at a good price point. The monitor arrived well packaged and quickly.
It came with new batteries and was ready to use.

The instructions were good but took a little bit of time to understand. It takes a bit of force to attach the monitor to the chest strap, although once attached, it is very secure.

Pairing the monitor to my phone was quite easy once I'd downloaded the free app that goes with it. Just remember you only need to pair it in the app and not in the Bluetooth settings. You need to make sure that the points that the 2 sensor points on the strap that make contact with your skin are moist so that the monitor can detect your heart rate.

Once set up, it was easy to use with Strava. You open up the Strava app and go to the section where you are about to record an activity on your phone. Then press the little heart symbol at the bottom, and it should pick up the monitor. You are then ready to start your workout. I personally have only used it for running, although you can use it for cycling and a lot more.

The monitor feels comfortable to wear and can easily be adjusted to suit different body sizes. Cleaning was easy as all it needs is a wipe down with a damp cloth.

I've compared the stats with my Garmin watch, and the heart rate was identical, which was very reassuring to see.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fits a Fatty and works with DDP

Got the DDPY app recently and Dallas is always banging on about heart rate, after reading reviews and comparing them against prices, i settled on this HRM, now being a big lad around 51" chest i contacted the seller who was honest and said it wouldnt fit. However i seen other reviews saying it did fit the bigger person.

2months in update, works like a charm, I use it for any and all workouts with the DDP app set to custom, had to take it in a few times and never had a problem with a loss of connection or anything. Top product.

So i took a punt knowing amazons returns are great, and it fitted....not only did it fit i actually had to tighten it from its biggest setting as it wasnt tight enough to get my HR.

Connecting it nearly cost some stars in the review until i realised it was me, when using with the DDP app do not pre connect it to your phone or pc, allow the app to do all the legwork, follow the website for the chrome extention on the PC, i have used it connected to the phone and the PC and it works fine.

if you have any questions feel free to ping them my way, or contact the seller who was quick as a flash to answer my question.

I fully recomend this HRM for the DDPY app, and good luck in your health kick or weight loss jounrey....BANG!

    6 month update,

It stopped working, changed batteries, tried with several devices and it just won't connect, nothing I can do to make it work, most upsetting as all of the above states it was the perfect HRM to DDPY I recommend it to everyone I. Class and online and now it's just stopped working.
