Customer reviews
Customers say
Customers like the performance, temperature control, and spreadability of the heat sink. They mention it drops the temperature huge amount, works if you need extreme cooling, and makes spreading the liquid much easier. Customers also appreciate the great liquid metal and noise level. However, some customers have mixed opinions on the ease of adjustment.

"Works great , dropped my cpu temperature from 95 to 79 ." Read more
"...for the dedicated, somewhat risk taking enthusiast, but so far worth the results (compared to 2 year old stock paste)...." Read more
Customers like the spreadability of the heat sink. They mention it's slightly easier to spread than Conductonaut and makes spreading the liquid much easier. Some also say it spreads better on the delided core heat spreader.

Customers like the noise level of the heat sink. They mention the fans go quieter as they don't have to run. However, some customers have reported that the coil whines.
"...As a result, I get a cooler and quieter computer...." Read more
"...from thermal throttling at 95c to 100% load at 65c, the power components make more noise than the fans now!..." Read more
"...my CPU went from throttling at 95C to sustained turbo at 78C. Fans went quieter too as they didn’t have to run as hard to keep the processor..." Read more
Customers have mixed opinions about the ease of adjustment of the heat sink. Some mention it's much easier to apply, while others say it's difficult to apply evenly on the entire surface.
"Not that hard to apply so long as you are slow & methodical. Didn't notice a great temperature drop but I don't use my PC for gaming...." Read more
"...D: difficult to apply, probably if you're comparing it to paste again. its liquid metal it doesn't behave like paste...." Read more
"...It's easy to apply with the black q-tip. Surfaces need to be very clean...." Read more

- Reviewed in Canada on July 15, 2021Verified PurchaseI used this on a delidded i5 4670k and it was easy enough to spread to both the i5's die and the heat spreader, it brought temps down low enough that passing a prime95 stress test was no longer an issue. Before the delid it would almost instantly hit 100C. Now it's just hitting the low 70s with a light overclock. So yes I like this stuff and I'd buy it again.
Now I can't make any comparisons to other liquid metals on the market because this is the first I've ever used. I'll say all the usual warnings apply though, avoid contact with aluminum. Do not get this stuff on anything surrounding the cpu or gpu as that will have a high chance of killing the component if you run them without cleaning it up. A good tip from buildzoid is to pick up some of the liquid metal from the syringe itself (remove the lid or needle point) and paint it onto your component with the cotton swab that's included. You can completely avoid mistakenly squirting it out if you do it this way.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 24, 2020Verified PurchaseWatched a lot of tutorials on using Liquid Metal on GPU (1080ti) die before deciding to go this path. Finally took the plunge. It is really only for the dedicated, somewhat risk taking enthusiast, but so far worth the results (compared to 2 year old stock paste). I am using it on my 2 year old EVGA 1080Ti FTW3, which was starting to show higher temps with the old stock paste (which was on the dry side after 2 years of use). My before and after (controlled 70% fan speed) 10 min Heaven Benchmark tests showed a reduction of max stable temps from 78C (holding 1936 Mhz) to 63C (holding 1949 Mhz). The increase in temps is also slower, so in real game use the temps generally stay in the 50s with lower fan RPM. The price of this Liquid Metal is comparable to MX-4, but the risk, reward and difficulty of use is far higher. I have attached pics, but I must say, it was a bit of a tough process to carefully coat the resistors around the GPU die with clear Nail polish (without getting it on the die) and getting the right (min) amount of liquid metal on the die and the heatsink. Here's to hoping it keeps working so well. I will probably not risk it with a new GPU until it's stock paste starts to lose performance after a few years of use.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 29, 2024Verified PurchaseSo I read the bad reviews and I want to address some things and hopefully this helps concerns for people looking to purchase this product. I had a great time, mostly easy to spread, lowered temps on both my CPU and GPU.
A: corrosion concerns, this is a gallium based product which is a solvent for aluminum and galvanizes copper. The copper staining can be easily removed with 30 seconds and some 4k grit sand paper and you should know better than to mix gallium and aluminum. All liquid metal thermal compound is gallium based.
B: welding the CPU to the cooler, with some heat and twisting it comes undone fine. again this is typical of liquid metal compounds.
C: not getting temp decreases, you used too much or your tolerances aren't low enough for the thin layers that liquid metal is applied in and you're getting poor contact, at that point you should stick to pastes.
D: difficult to apply, probably if you're comparing it to paste again. its liquid metal it doesn't behave like paste.
my 7600x went down 21 degrees at full load running cinebench and I was able to continue my adventures into overclocking the small but mighty mid range! Unless you're overclocking the temperature gains provided by liquid metal aren't necessary to anything and this compound is certainly not for beginners.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 18, 2022Verified PurchaseWorked great, temps dropped on my deliding of a 7700k, temps did go down a bit until realizing a water hose was being heated by the ram, hose wasn't an issue prior to this products use.
This works great for delidding, my 7700k went from 90c average to 40c idle.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 11, 2019Verified PurchaseThis stuff is INSANE. I used it on my Alienware 15R3 (GTX 1060, I7 7700HQ variety) and before this stuff, running full loads on my GPU and CPU would result in thermal throttling down to 2.4GHz and temperatures of 97 celcius. After applying this compound, my computer maintains temperatures of around 85 celcius maximum and the CPU overclocks itself to 3.7GHz instead of throttling to 2.4, WHILE maintaining far better temperatures.Seriously, taking into account the thermal throttling, that means it's helping to disipate an extra roughly 25-30 degrees. Mind boggling crap here.Do note that while you absolutely should ensure not to over-apply the compound due to the very real risk of killing your system, you also should avoid under-pasting the stuff. I was too conservative on my first attempt and my system was reaching 80 celcius IDLE, and if trying to benchmark it would hit 100 celcius the instant I hit 'Start'. Applying a bit more radically dropped my temps to record lows. The moral of th estory is be careful, but don't be TOO conservative or you won't make a good connection.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 9, 2020Verified PurchaseTo the reviewer who said it destroyed the heatsink into dust: you used liquid metal on aluminum, which is an absolute no-no. Copper and nickel heatsinks are OK for use with it.
I used this Silver King liquid metal for an i7 4770K delid, it lowered my load temperature running RPCS3 of 80C down to 65C, a 15 degree improvement. As a result, I get a cooler and quieter computer.
In my opinion, it is slightly easier to spread than Conductonaut, which tends to bead up more.
It looks and works just like Thermal Grizzly's Conductonaut, even the included supplies (2 black cotton swabs, an applicator needle, and an IPA wipe) are pretty much identical. The catch? A lower overall cost (but performance is not sacrificed at all). Great buy.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 11, 2025Verified Purchaseunfortunately i received only half a gram of liquid metal, i did not half the full amount to finish the job so my temps stayed about the same from my ps5. If i had about 0.2 more i think it would have worked a lot better.
