  This is a pair of voltage detectors, just in a different color, batteries are provided. There aren't really any instructions on this, you have to watch the video from the ad. So there is a light on either end of this device, which can illuminate the area that you're working on if you need it. There are 3 modes of sensitivity, and depending on the voltage you're working with, you pick the right one, because if you make it too sensitive when you don't need to, it will give quite sporadic results. It beeps when there is voltage and continuity detected, and it stops when there isn't, thus helping you find the problem wire and location of break. It has worked in the live wires I tested, and with a higher sensitivity, it will start beeping even at a slight distance.
