- Reviewed in Canada on December 17, 2024I took this camera when I saw it has an internal / cabin camera as well as a 4K main camera in addition to, very important - WiFi connectivity, plus add to this GPS . I also love that it has a back camera though this was a slightly lower priority on my list.
This combination of features is something I was looking for a while. Until now I had some basis dashcam which served me well but it didn't have WiFi and whenever I wanted to take a peek in some interesting traffic events, I just lost ambition to go through the pan of pulling microSD card out and then transferring and ultimately trying to get it back to cam without messing up with camera positioning.
This camera solves all these problems.
Camera has a great 4K image and night vision.
It is able to record 4K + 1080 + 1080 when the back camera is used. If the back camera is not used, then it can combine 4K + 2.5K with the internal camera.
I liked how the camera is designed with buttons on the bottom which makes it much better than other cams that I鈥檝e had a chance to test and buttons would often be in awkward positions once mounted in the car. Best part is that if you connect your phone or tablet with this camera, you won鈥檛 even need to go through many menus as you can do this on a mobile device.
Recorded materials are stored separately for each camera which is something I absolutely loved and to make things easier, they are in the same folder (not separated like on some cameras) which makes pulling them out much easier. For example, I鈥檝e added a task on my phone to sync the camera folder on my NAS. But process is not completely automated, so it goes something like this:
Turn on WiFi on camera and connect with mobile device
Download desired videos (like I mentioned, they are all in same folder)
Disconnect from cam and re-connect to your home network
Sync with NAS will trigger automatically.
As for transfer speed, it鈥檚 ok, but still not some super fast transfer that you might get used to with home networking.
I鈥檝e downloaded a couple of videos, and the average transfer rate is around 4.5 - 5 seconds per MB.
It took me 135 Mb video to download for 30 seconds, and 248 in about 50-ish seconds.
Don鈥檛 get me wrong, this is still fantastic and saves me from the hassle of pulling the SD card out and actually seeing what was recorded so I can decide if I need it for further analysis or not.
I鈥檝e tried an app with my old tablet - Samsung S6 Lite and it worked well but I have to say that landscape orientation is half supported. When going through settings, it will be in portrait, but when in camera mode, it will recognize landscape orientation and show images properly.
Conclusion: This is a high quality dash cam with all features that you can want from dash cam. As such cam is on expensive side (259.99$ but at a time of order there is additional 55$ discount)
