  I love the taste of the gold setting coffee, the look of this coffee maker and that you can have both basket and cone filters in it. The coffee even comes out hot which some other makers struggle with.
  
  With that kind of review you might ask why I only gave it 3 stars, it is because of the following:
  
  1. The measurements do not match. If I fill the water reservoir to the 8 cup line, I only get exactly 7 cups of coffee out according to the carafe. I've done this over 50 times already and it's the same result. Maybe my unit is defective? But you would think that is something that would be standardized.
  
  2. The Carafe is impossible to replace. I read this before buying from reviews dating back over a year and the carafe is still out of stock everywhere including directly from Breville so if you break it, you need to buy a new machine.
