This book was recommended after attending a workshop on Emotional Intelligence. It was easy to read, and gave some good 'introductory' insight into the importance of EQ with respect to running a company and managing your relationships, whether it be at home or work. I found some of the strategies to be a little 'up there' but on the whole it was more or less palatable, and somewhat practical. I've been doing my best to do some of the suggested strategies. It's definitely an introduction to EQ and not 'academic' - I'm sure there is a plethora of material out there to read if EI 2.0 grabs your attention and you want to find out more.

I found the EQ test a little bit disappointing. It's very much a subjective test. Hard to assess yourself accurately. However, that said, I can't think of any suggestions on how to make it more accurate. It's probably the best assessment out there (I looked at some alternatives that were very weak).

In sum, good as an introduction to EQ.
