  I purchased two of these for a rat problem in my garden. A rat decided to nest under my deck and have a litter! Needless to say it was only a few weeks until my garden was occupied by numerous juvenile rats. The mother abandoned the nest but the offspring remained, taking advantage of the dropped bird feeder seed and ponds. after reading reviews I chose these traps and as suggested in a review I made sure to tether them. The traps were in place at 11am and by 3:30pm I had accumulated 8 dead rats! Used peanut butter for bait. Dead rat removal is easy and the traps were easy to clean at the end of the day. Just make sure you tie them down, when the rat is caught some jump around for a bit and the trap could be moved from where you put it down. The rats were all around 6 or 7 inches body length (not including tail length). I don't know how they will work on a fully grown one.
