Lagostina and I have a history. My first really good quality frying pan was a Lagostina and for many years that's the only kind I would buy. Luckily for me, you were expensive, they would go on sale so I was always able to have a couple in the kitchen.
Over time, I found other brands that were even better and I ended up sticking with them. Last year I tried a very expensive new Lagostina and I wasn't a fan at all. It had a modern finish that I just didn't like. Now, Lagostina has introduced new pans and I have to admit I'm eager to love them again, so I gave them a go.
These pans are not like the one with the mesh finish that I didn't get along with. These are a more traditional type non-stick surface. These work well, but they almost always do in the beginning.
They have these kind of weird newfangled handles which are definitely rubber, and the pans themselves are quite heavy, which for me, because I have arthritis in my hands, is an issue.
These pans are hand wash only, but that's not an issue for me since I have only ever washed non-sticks by hand. My advice, whether non-stick cookware is listed as dishwasher safe or not is always hand wash them if you want them to maintain their non-stick surface.
I wish they came with lids however, lids from my other pans and even pots do fit on these.
These are not bad non-stick pans, certainly better than the last one I tried, and if you are a fan of this type of non-stick then you will definitely be happy with these. Four stars.
