Good quality and practical skillet set
I've been using this Lagostina 3-pack skillet set daily for a while. Overall it is a good impression. The decent construction gives the skillets a solid, sturdy feel, and despite constant use, they’ve shown no signs of warping or bending. This level of durability has met my expectation, especially since I rely on them for everything from quick breakfasts to more involved dinners. The durability extends beyond the body to the non-stick coating, which has been excellent so far. Even with daily use for cooking a variety of dishes, the coating has held up exceptionally well: there’s no peeling, flaking, or signs of wear. I’ve cooked sticky sauces, delicate eggs, and even seared meats, and the food slides right off effortlessly every time. This also means I can use less oil, making my meals a bit healthier without compromising on convenience. The weight of the skillets is just right: substantial enough to feel high-quality but not so heavy that it’s a chore to handle. The handle design, while functional, could use a bit of improvement in terms of ergonomics. A more contoured or slip-resistant grip would have been ideal. That said, both my wife and I find them comfortable to use, even during longer cooking sessions, so it’s not a major drawback. Cleaning the skillets is a breeze thanks to their non-stick surface. Although they’re hand-wash only, I don’t mind since food residue washes away effortlessly with minimal scrubbing. As someone who values convenience in the kitchen, this ease of cleaning has been a big plus. The set includes three skillet sizes: 20 cm, 26 cm, and 30 cm, which offer a lot of versatility. The smallest is perfect for quick snacks or single servings, the medium size is great for everyday meals, and the largest works well for family-sized portions. However, I do wish the set included a 32 cm skillet instead of the 26 cm one, as a larger size would come in handy for cooking for a crowd or preparing dishes like stir-fries or paella. Another thing to note is that the skillets don’t come with lids, which might be inconvenient for some. Fortunately, the sizes are standard, and I had no trouble finding matching lids online. Adding lids to the set would make it even more complete, especially for tasks like simmering or boiling.

    These pans are not like the one with the mesh finish that I didn't get along with. These are a more traditional type non-stick surface. These work well, but they almost always do in the beginning.

    They have these kind of weird newfangled handles which are definitely rubber, and the pans themselves are quite heavy, which for me, because I have arthritis in my hands, is an issue.

    These pans are hand wash only, but that's not an issue for me since I have only ever washed non-sticks by hand. My advice, whether non-stick cookware is listed as dishwasher safe or not is always hand wash them if you want them to maintain their non-stick surface.

    I wish they came with lids however, lids from my other pans and even pots do fit on these.

    These are not bad non-stick pans, certainly better than the last one I tried, and if you are a fan of this type of non-stick then you will definitely be happy with these. Four stars.

    As with any Lagostina kitchen utensil I have ever used, I am impressed with the quality of these pans.

    Over the years we have shunned most non-stick pans due to the Teflon situation (it's been proven to not be healthy) and have opted instead for pans using a non-stick coating made of ceramic or rock. Recently, Lagostina has also come out with pans that have a ceramic coating but this new technology looks interesting. A non-stick pan's ability to resist scratching is important, and the specs given here by the company on this new product seem like a way to avoid the issues that Teflon presents.
    ♦ Even though the surface should be a lot tougher than previous non-stick options, we'll still use wood and silicone utensils to stir and remove anything being fried in them.

    ► The pans are well made, and we really appreciate the silicone handle covers. We also like that these covers can be slid off for cleaning.
    ► Instead of the standard, using two rivets to hold the handle onto the pan, here there are three. These pans feel solid.
    ► For me, the non-stick surface works better than expected.
    ► The layered construction, stainless steel and aluminum, has worked well in other pots and pans we have used for years. This is pretty much an industry-standard in high-end pans.
    ► While I have not tested these in extreme temperatures, I like that they are rated up to 500°F/260°C when used in an oven.
    ► Weight-wise, like other newer pans, these have a lot less weight, which makes them easier to work with.
    ► As with other pans from Lagostina, the flared edges make for cleaner pouring as they reduce the amount of dripping that normally happens.
    ► The coating used in these pans is slick, which makes them extremely easy to wash. Plus, the coating sheds water, so they dry almost immediately.

    The silicone handle covers do exactly what they are supposed to:
    ► They allow for a good grip
    ► There is very little heat transferred through the silicone, so like other similar options, they allow for handling the pans while being extremely hot.
    ► There is no problem getting a good grip which then allows for pouring things out of the pans without any spills or discomfort.
    ► Each cover extends beyond the metal handle, which means there is no hot spot at the end.
    ► The flat metal handles are already wide, but the added girth of the silicone makes it very easy to get a solid grip. There is no way the handles can rotate in my hand like a circular handle does.

    As with most other frying pan options, I'd really like to have the option to order lids, preferably glass, so that I can see how things are progressing in the pan. With this set, I don't have any lids from other pans or pots that fit properly.

    Considering the quality and the price (as I write this review, the set is selling for $161.10), this is a very good option when looking for cookware that's going to last a long time. We have Lagostina pots and pans from many years ago that are still in great shape, so I expect no less from these.
