Stainless steel food contact surfaces, unlike many other grinders with mainly plastic construction, keeps the germs away. A cinch to clean - just wash and rinse, no fuss, no muss. The lid makes a great seal; just be sure not to fill past the 'MAX' embossing on the bowl to avoid spillage. We use it for flaxseed and almonds (brazils, filberts, almonds).
