- Reviewed in Canada on June 19, 2014So first of all, if you are a Zelda fan then this console should just out right speak for it's self! The gold lettering on the Wii U tablet looks great, If you have played The Wind Waker before then get ready for the best looking Wind Waker you'll ever see, I still can't get over how good the lighting looks! Also for the month of June if you register a copy of Mario Kart 8 you get a free game to pick from, this was also a huge reason why I decided to get a Wii U.
Another thing I found out last night is, for all Deluxe Wii U owners, if you buy games off the Wii U eShop then you get 10% back in points that you can then redeem $5 for every 500 points to then buy more games off the Wii U eShop! I love this idea I think it's great! All you have to do is Link your Nintendo eShop account to the Redeeming website and your good to go!!!
One annoying thing that I should mention, if you are like me and own a 3DS and already have an account made, so that when you first turn on your Wii U and do the set up, it gets to a spot where it wants you to make a account or link an existing one, if you try to link a existing one then it will give you a error saying, to use the online services your Wii U must be updated to the newest update and to please do that before you can link a account. The problem here is you cant go to the Wii u settings and update it until you finish the initial set up! So basically its a Error Loop! I then made a "new" one which in the setting of making a new mii and account it let me link my 3DS account from there. So all in all it ended up linking no problem just a heads up to anyone that is planning on getting one to expect this issue and don't fret its a easy work around!
Even though that one issue ate up about 2 hours of my time for just setting up the console I'm still give it a 5 Stars because once I finnaly got it set up I can't stop playing the games I have for it! The Wind Waker looks truly amazing! Mario Kart 8 is a must have and easily the most fun me and some friends have had in a while for a 4 player game, and the New Super Mario Wii U game that I got for free with my Mario Kart 8 is sub par, its about what you would expect out of a Mario side scrolling game!
I hope this helps some of the people sitting on the fence on a Wii U and to decided to take a hop off that fence and into a game store to get a Wii U ^_^
