The gold design of the gamepad looks awesome and the 32GB in the deluxe allows me to download more games from the eShop... worth every penny.

However after a week of playing, the Wii U adapter burned out during a session and I had to buy a replacement from the Nintendo site... but now it's as good as new.

Bought as a christmas gift for my son, so past the return window. Unit arrived very dirty, scratched with frayed chords that appear to have been chewed by an animal. The battery started failing and won't hold a charge within a week of Christmas. Very unhappy with purchase, unable to return and cannot resell as it's basically junk. Paid too much. Avoid this seller.

The WiiU is what it is its just black nothing special about it. The controller is really the only thing special about the system and it is one very nice looking controller, the quality you should expect from nintendo. However that being said, the windwaker is a digital download only so you cant share it with people which sucks and the hyrule historia is also a download only and only for your WiiU. Who the heck wants to read the hyrule historia like that?

The console itself is beautiful and in perfect condition aside from a couple very very small scratches. The console does *not* come with the game, I was very upset to find this out upon delivery, however after messaging the seller they graciously offered a partial refund of $40 to make up for me having to purchase the game separately.

Very satisfied with the console and customer service

So first of all, if you are a Zelda fan then this console should just out right speak for it's self! The gold lettering on the Wii U tablet looks great, If you have played The Wind Waker before then get ready for the best looking Wind Waker you'll ever see, I still can't get over how good the lighting looks! Also for the month of June if you register a copy of Mario Kart 8 you get a free game to pick from, this was also a huge reason why I decided to get a Wii U.

Another thing I found out last night is, for all Deluxe Wii U owners, if you buy games off the Wii U eShop then you get 10% back in points that you can then redeem $5 for every 500 points to then buy more games off the Wii U eShop! I love this idea I think it's great! All you have to do is Link your Nintendo eShop account to the Redeeming website and your good to go!!!

One annoying thing that I should mention, if you are like me and own a 3DS and already have an account made, so that when you first turn on your Wii U and do the set up, it gets to a spot where it wants you to make a account or link an existing one, if you try to link a existing one then it will give you a error saying, to use the online services your Wii U must be updated to the newest update and to please do that before you can link a account. The problem here is you cant go to the Wii u settings and update it until you finish the initial set up! So basically its a Error Loop! I then made a "new" one which in the setting of making a new mii and account it let me link my 3DS account from there. So all in all it ended up linking no problem just a heads up to anyone that is planning on getting one to expect this issue and don't fret its a easy work around!

Even though that one issue ate up about 2 hours of my time for just setting up the console I'm still give it a 5 Stars because once I finnaly got it set up I can't stop playing the games I have for it! The Wind Waker looks truly amazing! Mario Kart 8 is a must have and easily the most fun me and some friends have had in a while for a 4 player game, and the New Super Mario Wii U game that I got for free with my Mario Kart 8 is sub par, its about what you would expect out of a Mario side scrolling game!

I hope this helps some of the people sitting on the fence on a Wii U and to decided to take a hop off that fence and into a game store to get a Wii U ^_^

I have a major concern as I purchased this for my nephew, and he cannot play it. When he starts the system its asking for a password. I've looked online and can't seem to find all this info its asking for like a network Nintendo password and what not. So he basically has a machine that he can turn on and off and cannot play. From what I'm guessing the precious owner has the password.

...especially if you're a fan of The Legend of Zelda!

Since this is the Deluxe version of the Wii U, it has a 32GB SSD, as opposed to the 8GB in the Basic version. Now, 32GB isn't much when compared to the 500GB offered by the PS4 and XboxOne, but unlike those two, the 32GB drive in the WiiU is a solid state drive, meaning it has no moving parts. So, it is more likely to keep your data safe in the event that it get's knocked around, *cough*kids*cough* or if you're moving the system around, like to a friend's place, for example. Not to mention, I love the fact that the WiiU is able to play Wii games as well. Overall, quite pleased with the system.

As far as the Gamepad goes, it's not the best. Quite large, and takes some getting used to. But, I will say the controller does feel comfortable in my hands, and was a lot lighter than I expected it to be. The gold etching around the edges was a nice touch, and I like the idea of being able to play games using the touchscreen on the gamepad.

One small thing that put me off, was that both Wind Waker HD & the Zelda Passbook, come as a downloadable, rather than a hard copy, which was a slight disappointment for me, as I'm one that prefers the latter.

Overall, If you're on the fence about getting a WiiU, or if you're a fan of Wind Waker, or both, I recommend you get this bundle!

    Puntos positivos:

    Llegó rápido hasta México
    Llegó bien protegida la consola

    Pero no recomiendo esta compra

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Nintendo Experience
Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2014

The Wii U Windwaker Bundle is a fantastic deal. This review will mostly reference the console itself and not Wind Waker HD (however I will reference aspects of it in my review). In short, Wind Waker HD is a great update of a classic game that I believe is a perfect display of why many of the Wii U's new features are something to get excited about.

The Wii U Pros - The Wii U console is a vast improvement upon the Wii. I bought the original Wii day one back in 2007, and while I certainly did enjoy the motion controls and many of the Nintendo exclusive titles, I found that the novelty of motion control to wear off fast. That and the TONS of peripheral devices that went along with the system made playing some games feel like a chore. The Wii U controller may seem like an uninspired attempt to make a new odd/unique controller and hope it catches on. While I can't speak to the motives of Nintendo designers, I find that the controller works brilliantly. I'd argue it's the best method of surfing the web on a console. In addition, it's application so far in the 3 games I've played is done very well. But my favorite thing is that so far Nintendo doesn't seem to be forcing the user to use the "neat features" of the controller in games. For example, the controller has a motion sensor that can be used to aim the bow and arrow in Wind Waker HD. This method of aiming works very well (substantially better than I had anticipated). However, if this method of aiming doesn't seem that appealing, you can easily turn it off and use the joysticks instead. On top of all this, Nintendo has begun to embrace online functionality and is doing their own unique spin on it. Adding friends is much better than on the Wii, and all games have their own meta-social aspect to them that revolve around the Miiverse channel. How the Miiverse comes into play varies based on the game in question. In Super Mario 3D World, various Mii's from other online users would show up on the over-world map with various comments about their session ("x" level was hard, There is a secret here, or just jokes). Comments specific to a level could also be seen on the post level completion screen. In Wind Waker, players acquire an item that allows them to send messages in bottles. As you sail around the world, you can pick up these bottles to read these notes (using the camera you can also send images of your game in the bottles as well). Because the internet is...well the internet, I was surprised how well moderated the Miiverse is. I don't recall seeing anything obscene or offensive during my numerous hours of plays (also if you're concerned about messages containing spoilers, you can usually choose to not see messages classified as spoilers). While there is still plenty more to say about the console, I will make my final point about the ability to play off the tablet controller alone. While I am usually able to use the TV as I need, not all people have this convenience. It's nice that you can use the controller to play a game using just the screen on the tablet (within a pretty forgiving distance from the Wii U itself). I found being able to just use the tablet to play games useful on many occasions.

Cons of the Wii U - Honestly there isn't that much to say is really wrong about the Wii U. Some generic complaints I could see people having is that Nintendo is child-centric in nature. Being a 23 year old, I will concede that the majority of there games out are more child focused in art design/style, they certainly aren't all easy and hand-holding. I suspect many games will test even the most talented of individuals (Pikmin 3 can be very challenging). Another issue is the absence of 3rd party game. On the Wii this problem was bigger as I the graphical limitations of the Wii (which has been more standardized) and the immensely unique nature of the Nun-chuck/Motion controller which could make translating the controls for a game a huge burden. The tablet controller, while still different from Sony/Microsoft's designs, is still similar enough that this should be as much of a big deal as it used to be. Personally, my only real issue after 6 months with the system as that the number of appealing first party titles on the Wii U is a bit limited. The near future of releases for Nintendo looks interesting, but to what end it is hard to say.

Ultimately, this a great bundle to get. Despite my Wii U library being rather limited, I can safely say that I've had the most satisfying and unique gaming experiences with those few Wii U games than effectively any other game released in a long time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Health and Safety Error Code

The media could not be loaded.
When I do a health and safety icon check it gives me a 160-0103 system memory error code. (See video).
There is nothing for support either from the seller, or Nintendo.
Needless to say, everything else seems to be working ok.
I'm giving one star on this for two reasons:
    1. Because the seller charged over $500 dollars for this item without fully running a diagnostic on the system before selling it.
    2. Because there is absolutely no customer service for this either from the seller, or Nintendo.

I didn't expect any help from Nintendo due to the fact that this gaming console has been discontinued for a number of years now; however, I was expecting some kind of support from the seller.

I would highly recommend that you do not buy this item.
    Look elsewhere.
The Legend of Zelda game is not all it is cracked up to be, not for this price anyway.
You can probably find the game much cheaper elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're thinking of getting a Wii U and you are a Zelda fan, this is the system you want
Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2014

I didn't buy a Wii U at launch because I didn't have the money and honestly, I wasn't interested in it yet. But when Nintendo announced this bundle with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in Beautiful HD, a gorgeous and detailed Gamepad and on top of that a digital copy of Hyrule Historia, how could I say no?

    The game:
If you liked the original, you're going to love this one. Nintendo made a lot of tiny but very helpful changes to the gameplay. For example, in the original game, if you did the Nintendo Gallery sidequest where you had to take a picture of every character and take it to Carlov in the Forest Haven so he could make you figurine of that character, you didn't know if the pictograph was good enough until you travelled all the way to the Forest Haven and showed it to him. Now in the HD remake when you take a picture you'll see a golden seal in top left corner if the pictograph is good enough.

The Tingle Tuner was replaced with the Tingle Bottle which lets you share messages and even pictographs you have taken on Miiverse. You can also receive bottles from other players.

Another gameplay change and my favorite is the addition of the Swift Sail. The Swift Sail is an upgraded version of the regular sail. It makes the boat travel twice as fast and will make the wind change direction automatically so it's always in your favor.

Regarding the graphics, the game looks beautiful in HD. I have noticed details I never saw in the original game, like the horse/pegasus in the shield. After all a jump from 360p to 1080p is BIG.

Some the music tracks were remasterized. Even something as simple as opening a chest sounds a lot better now.

    The gamepad:
It's detailed around the borders with the Hylian language from The Wind Waker (obviously), wind symbols and the Hyrule Crest in one corner, all in gold color characteristic of The Legend of Zelda.

    Hyrule Historia:
The digital version of the book allows you to pan around the pages and zoom in if you want to. It also remembers the last page you were reading so if you turn off the console and come back you don't have to sweep through all the previous pages again. The book itself is very detailed and explains a lot of things that were previously rumors or theories (it includes the official timeline).

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and although the system doesn't have a lot of good games at the moment, some of the upcoming games like Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8 and X will make this a even better console.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good deal on the Wii U
Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2014

I personally loved Wind Waker on the Game Cube. I had no qualms about the cell-shaded graphics, nor the length of the original game. The HD remake is gorgeous and I'd recommended for new or old Zelda fans. Hyrule Historia is a nice addition, however it's a bit less enjoyable in digital form. I wish it also included Nintendo Land, but this made no impact on my choice to purchase the bundle.

I got this bundle primarily for the special gamepad. The gold bordering looks cool and won't scratch off as it's embossed in the plastic itself. Sure, this is a novelty that I'll forget about over time, but it's still nice to look at.

Now that the XboxOne and PS4 are out, a lot of reviewers compare the system hardware and point that the Wii U is underpowered. While this is true, I'd say the system performs well and serves its purpose as a gaming machine. Compared to the Microsoft and PS Networks, the Nintendo store leaves a lot to be desired. I would not call the Wii U a complete entertainment system like the other two and plan to buy one of them in the future.

In my opinion, the weak point of this system is the lack of games. Yes, the system is getting more 3rd party games which might satisfy mature audiences. But its been released for over a year and I still haven't seen many of interest. If you're into platformers you'll get the most out of Super Mario 3D Land. If you like RPGs, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate can keep you occupied for hundreds of hours. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Super Smash Bros. 4 (it was my main motivator for buying a Wii U), but if you have a 3DS, you might prefer getting it for that.

Overall, I feel that the system is a good successor to the Wii (although the Wii really fell into obscurity in its last years). I like the fact that you can use all the Wii's peripherals, and the gamepad streams flawlessly. However, Nintendo hasn't really changed from a gaming company, so if you're looking for a system that does everything, look elsewhere.
