  The poker feels solid, with a comfortable wooden handle and a two-piece metal shaft that screws together securely. It’s long enough to keep a safe distance from the fire. The tongs have good reach but are heavy and require two hands to operate, which can be inconvenient. While both tools handle regular-sized firewood well, they’re not ideal for heavy logs—especially the tongs, which lack the strength for larger pieces. For camping or small fire pits, they work great.
