Good quality unit, generally works as expected

Good quality unit, generally works as expected
This screen is intended for (generally older) cars that do not have AndroidAuto or Apple CarPlay. It consists of a screen (that must be fastened securely somewhere on your dashboard), a power adapter (that plugs into your vehicle’s 12V auxiliary power outlet), and an (optional) audio connection to your car’s 3.5mm auxiliary audiosocket. Once set up, it gives you wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. This is similar to the support provided in recent cars (cars a few years old generally provide only ‘wired’ AA/CP support). Documentation supplied is not great, but is adequate. This unit does support connection of a reversing camera, but that is not supplied in this kit, and I did not test whether it works. The quality of the pieces seemed good. The power connection (a USB-C connection to the side/back of the unit) seemed to have a decent (thick-ish) cable, and also had a nice right-angle connector (instead of just straight, which would have stuck out more and looked worse). Unfortunately the AUX connection (if you use it) does stick out. Also, if you do decide to add a reversing camera later, you will need to plug in an AV cable to the unit. Unfortunately, the nifty right-angle USB-C power connector does kind of block the socket for the AV cable, so you may have to make some changes there. I have tried another brand of this type of device, and this works similarly. Installation is fairly simple. Some sticky pads are supplied, to stick the base to your dashboard. A wire runs from the power adapter to the back of the unit. You can (but don’t have to) install an audio connection from the back of the unit to your car’s AUX audio socket, if it has one. The hardest part is figuring out how to route the wires from the back of the unit down to the power socket (and maybe AUX socket). The supplied wires are long enough (at least in my car, and I think for most regular cars) to go back from the unit to the windshield, then along the base of the windshield to one of the side pillars, down the edge of the door and under the dashboard. There was not a lot of extra wire, though (would have been nice to have extra length – you can always hide unneeded length under the dashboard). In my case I could sneak the wires down (hidden) close to the power socket, then just become visible again at the power socket and AUX connection. If you can hide most of the wiring like that, the job looks almost professional : ) The screen seems bright, and the software/UI seems to be simple and responsive. The screen itself is wide, but not very high. Height and resolution are, however, fine for the purpose. Note that an advantage to having the wide/low screen (as opposed to some of the taller/narrower options offered by some other vendors) is that it gives a decent size screen without being high enough to block your view through the windshield. Wider screens are also good if you tend to use the ‘split’ screen function of AA (I assume CP has this also). One minor nit I had was that with the bracket supplied is that it is not possible to position the screen so that the bottom is touching the dashboard – there is always a small gap. Not a big deal for most folks, but I would have liked it as low as possible (the older screen I had removed had such a height adjustment). One plus this bracket did have was that the base was a little flexible (bendable). This means that the portion of the dashboard that you stick it do does not have to be completely flat (dashboards have lots of curves...). The angle of the screen could also be adjusted easily, using a small knob on the back. There are 4 audio options (e.g. music streaming, navigation instructions, or phone calls): • Use the speakers on the back of the screen itself. Simple, but not great quality for music, and not very loud when driving at speed. For input, I’m not sure if the unit has its own microphone or not. Does not use the car’s audio system at all. • Use Bluetooth. This should function as they would normally with a BT connection form your phone to your car (so your car audio should be set to ‘media’ or whatever you would normally set to stream music from your phone). • Use FM. The audio is transmitted on a certain FM frequency, and you must tune your car’s radio to that frequency. • Use the auxiliary audio connection. Audio is transmitted via a wire through the AUX audio port on your car (assuming you have installed that connection). Your car audio system should be set to use the AUX input. I have only used options 2 and 4 (BT and AUX) a lot, and only with Android Auto (not CarPlay). For music streaming and navigation instructions, both audio options seem to work, and both seem to have the same quality as far as I can tell. For phone calls, option 2 (BT) worked great. Option 4 (AUX) did give me an issues. If I get this resolved, I will update this review. Generally, I just use BT connections, so I’m pretty happy with this unit.

I bought it to install in my old car. I am satisfied with the current components because it is installed on the dashboard. There are no technical issues with the installation of the device so far.

The screen boots up fast for what it is, thus usable within seconds. Pairing was simple for Android and Android Auto works great. Screen is pretty bright too. They include two adhesive pads as well. Build quality seems well for the price and they actually use a USB type C and not the older. Setup and installation was straight forward. Wireless Android Auto working great and connects automatically. QC could be better, as I had 3 pieces of small dust between the LCD and the touch screen. The seller was very responsive and resolved satisfactory. Nice to have in a car originally without a factory screen.

Honestly, this thing is great. Some of the reviews on here may be skeptical to purchase this, but I'm very glad I did. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra, so no car play or anything like that in my truck. I have Bluetooth calling but not even Bluetooth music or audio. Now I'm able to have wireless carplay moments after getting into my vehicle, and somehow it's an affordable piece of tech to purchasetoo.

I tried a bunch of these aftermarket display units and this one is the best in the <$100 range. First off, it's actually usable, which sadly some units I've tried really aren't. Here's the breakdown...

    Pros:
-Capacitive touchscreen with good response and the display has good viewing angles
-Wireless phone mirroring works well; setup took 10 seconds and the unit reconnects reliably each time with my Galaxy Fold6.
-Audio output can be piped out via AUX or a built in-FM transmitter, so should work with just about any car of any vintage. It can also play the sounds via its own basic built-in speaker.
-Good looking ultrawide design with slim bezels.

    Cons:
-Display is 600P per the description so I'm not sure why the description keeps mentioning 1080P. The unit is definitely not FHD
-No Miracast support which many other models do include. If it had Miracast it could be used as a monitor for Samsung DeX which would've been a big plus for me.
-Software has some strange machine-translated strings and menu system isn't the most intuitive

If you're looking for a decent all-in-one AA/CP unit, this one is a good choice. Long term reliability is still a big ??? but in terms of feature set and polish this is good for the price range.

Might be the best aftermarket car product I’ve ever purchased. I know that might seem like a hot take. But it installed easily in under 2 mins. Interaction with the screen is the same as a vehicle with native CarPlay. A very nice update to my older car. I look forward to driving with it. I will try and submit an update after prolonged usage.
