    I used this machine 3 times and it started to slip, failing to move the carriage smoothly around the race, indicating gear slippage.
    Initially, I cranked a 45 row tube, no problems. Then I tried setting it up for a mitten (I have small hands). Going from tube to panel, 4 rows no issue and then it started to slip. I got the piece off. Had 2 more attempts and at each one the STOP position changed, not making it all the way to the first stop position. If that doesn’t indicate failing gearing, I can’t imagine what else.
    I viewed a vid on YouTube by Crafty Girl who had a several months old unit which was giving issues. Her sticking and slipping was maybe 10% of what I experienced at only 3 pieces cranked. She bought a 3d printed replacement crank handle and gear set which appeared to improve things, but cost $28 USD.
    My feeling on this machine: it’s a cool idea but so cheaply produced. Plastic body, needles and race, no problem. But plastic gearing? It WILL fail. Mine failed at less than 24 hours since opening the box. Very disappointed, as it’s a cute machine and my young Sewing Club friends at elementary school would have really enjoyed the process. I told them about it already and they were keen to try. Now I will have to explain how and why it failed.

    Okay I am no professional knitter - just a hobbyist crafter. I watched gazillion you tube videos before deciding to buy this machine. I saw the 50/50 split reviews on this machine. I decided the videos that did show the ease of using this machine and the positive results was good enough for me to buy this machine!

    it is unsteady as it does not have any suction cups but I’m going to try Velcro on my work surface and see if that helps - as one you tuber showed which helped her .

    You really need to pay attention to the type of yarn used . I used both a super fine type which caused stitches to miss but turned out into a very cute beanie . My suggestion go slow with super fine yarn .

    To prevent your stitches from causing the machine to jam - place a weight or peg to your tube created , on the inside of the machine and this will prevent this issue . You may want to push down on the tube or panel being created , on your initial several turns . This prevents jamming as well .

    I used the yarn included in the kit - it worked perfectly!

    Really for all the negative reviews here - it sure depends on a number of factors .

    I was able to make a premie beanie in 15 minutes !!!

    Now going to convince myself I need to larger machine too lol !

    Go on - buy this machine if you are a crafter ! You will love it if you are patient with the machine itself .
