How does the soap dispenser work?

This touchless soap dispenser needs 4 AA batteries. Remove cap and fill with non foaming soap or sanitizer, press (+) once, and see the green LED blink. Infrared motion sensor detects hands/sponges. Adjust the output level with (+) or (-) buttons.
Does it work with all soaps?

Works perfectly! I bought this to replace the Otto Umbra purchased and returned a week earlier.
This dispenser is superior to the Umbra in a number of ways.
First of all, it works!
It’s easy to fill with product and you can change the amount of soap it squirts simply by tapping the + or - on the top. It’s also easy to insert the 4 AA batteries. You don’t need a screwdriver to open the compartment; you simply twist the plug and insert the batteries.
I highly recommend this item. Wish I’d been smart enough to have bought it in first place.

Big, Greasy fingerprints all over it, mostly around where the cap for the soap reservoir is. I tried to wipe them off with just water, but it wouldn't work. I had to use some degreaser and hot water and some scrubbing to remove them. Not impressed with that at all. I suspect I was sent a used unit maybe?

Inspected and sanitized the unit. As for how it works, it's adequate. Takes two AA batteries, has lasted a few weeks so far. Easy to use and get set up. Motion detection works fine, and the adjustable size of soap dispensing is a nice feature.

It is a nice looking product although it does not function as it is supposed to. the soap will not dispense unless I put my finger on the sensor and allow the soap to run down my hand putting my hand underneath the nozzle or a cup or a dark colored plate or anything does not dispense the soap. There is no way to dispense the soap into the sink for washing dishes the soap will only dispense on a sponge if the sponge is put directly onto the sensor. It makes absolutely no sense. Perhaps the sensor should be on top of the unit so that if a person scan their hand to the top the soap would come out the bottom at the nozzle but as it is the only way that you can get soap into your sink to wash dishes is to put your hand there and allow the soap to run down your hand. I have never seen one like this before. I will take the time to clean it up meticulously and to return it. We are all very disappointed with it.

Standardowe mydło jest zbyt gęste, trzeba było rozcieńczyć 1:1 z wodą, żeby wypływało z dozownika i to jest jeszcze do zaakceptowania.

Just arrived 4/2/25. Put it to use quickly. Initial impressions; it’s GREAT!

Several key points:

- unlike some of the reviews, the Owner’s Manual mine came with is in English. That said, the unit is so simple to operate, I actually didn’t check the manual until AFTER I was using it (I only looked at the manual to see if it was indeed, written in Chinese, and to see if there were hidden features). On the hidden features; not really. Hold the + button for 1s to turn it ON. Figured that one out after installing the batteries. Hold the - button for 2s to turn it OFF. 5 levels of soap dispensing. Press + or - to adjust.

- it uses 4xAA batteries. This is something I actually consider a positive vs needing to wait for a built-in battery to recharge. When the small Green LED stays Red, it’s time to replace the batteries.

- unlike some other units that use AA batteries and state that you need to use alkaline batteries, as the 1.2v nominal voltage of NiMh rechargeables is too low, and their soap dispenser may not work, the manual for THIS UNIT explicitly states that you CAN use rechargeable batteries in this unit (they just have the standard disclaimer of not mixing battery types). Great. I have a few dozen Eneloop batteries. Yep. It works great with 4 of those.

- It’s a nice size, and I like the clear tank, making it very easy to see how much soap is in it. I’m using it at the kitchen sink for regular Dawn dish soap, and it dispenses it with ease

- good clearance for hands, or a dishwashing sponge, and the dispenser is indeed no-drip.

I’ll update in a few months to a year from now, for battery life with 4 AA Eneloops, and how the unit is holding up (if it doesn’t fail before then).
