The Laser Ray Coming Out Measure the Temperature?
The red dot of the laser is not where the temperature is being taken. The actual surface being measured is about 2 cm below the pointer.
-
Is Infrared Thermometer Accurate?
Some common errors that deter the accuracy of your temp gun reading include: failure to compensate for the shiny objects that have low emissivity capacity, either get too close or too far from the object, dirt on the lens, interference steam and dust

Infrared Vs Laser Thermometers What's The Difference?
Infrared thermometers and laser thermometers are the same thing there is no difference between the two

Customers like the accuracy of the thermometer. They mention it works well for measuring temperature of thermoplastic elastomer when heating. Some say it agrees closely with a floating thermometer they have been using and checks the right temperature in a terrarium.

- Reviewed in Canada on May 19, 2025Verified PurchaseWorks great. No more over or under heating the stove top grill.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 5, 2025Verified PurchaseWorks great and comes with two AAA batteries. After turning it on for the first time all the meter said was "AL", after some googling I found this is means the ambient temperature is too low (makes sense since it was outside in the cold). After a few minutes of warming up it worked fine.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 17, 2024Verified PurchaseIt works as advertised. Easy to use. I think its fairly accurate.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 14, 2025Verified PurchaseI'm switching away from anything with teflon coating and just got new stainless steel pans (and will soon be getting a S/S grill. Burners don't have a precise temperature setting on them, as my T-Fal Opti-grill does, so I use this laser to ensure I'm close to the desired temperature. It's a nifty little addition to my kitchen.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 16, 2024Verified PurchaseWorks great. Perfect for detecting hot bearings.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 12, 2024Verified PurchasePleasantly surprised by the ability to read the temperature of a stream of tap water. Also works quickly to get readings from solids. Good basic functions with capability for precise calibration.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 2, 2025Verified PurchaseI can't be sure it's accurate, but it seems pretty close to what I expected to see after taking readings of boiling water and a bowl full of ice.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 1, 2024Verified PurchaseI have used this thermometer gun for general temperature testing but more specifically for testing the temperature of must (wine) fermentation in 45 gallon drums. It agreed closely with a floating thermometer that I had been using.
However, I dropped it from my pocket and, unfortunately, it no longer works.
It seems to be a very fragile instrument and I would recommend being very careful while using it.
Not sure if I will order another one.
UPDATE: After messing with it for a while it now works!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, does what it’s expected to do
Verified PurchaseAbsolute bargain. I bought this to replace a more expensive one that came with a pizza oven after it went missing (thanks kids!).
This works really well, straight out of the box. Now I just need to find a genius place to hide it so it lasts as long as it feels like it will.
