I haven't used it underwater yet but for rainy weather it seemed to work fine. The cable is long enough to go from a head mount to a battery pack in a chest/hand pocket of your jacket without issues. I had tried the massive extended batteries made to attach to the rear of a gopro case but they are really heavy, especially when worn on your head (for duck hunting, in my case) this solved that. Very happy with this!
