Ok, I’m back after pairing the two.
I paired, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to get these two together. Remember, the remote is a device to connect to, you have to press some buttons. You don’t wave a the remote around like you’re a 5 year old trying to win a match of Mortal Combat by randomly mashing buttons and yelling, at first you don’t because you’ll be intrigued with the operation but the unreliability of the remote will have you using it like you tv remote barely has any battery left pointing, yelling and smashing buttons.
Also, your GoPro doesn’t just pop on it takes a little bit of time when the screen on the remote has battery bars. Here’s the final skinny, don’t expect a lighting response to connect, don’t expect to connect the first time even though you set it up dozens of times flawlessly, expect the remote to make your GoPro to take a pic when you expect a video, don’t expect this remote to work more than ten feet away. The Quik app for GoPro is much better and more reliable but if you want unreliable, frustrating and a surprise approach to your capture…the remote is good for you.
