EDIT: 12 months later both of my machines have died. One day I started seeing a little bit of smoke coming from the machine while I was pouring an espresso shot and then it shut down. I unplugged the machine in hopes it would cool down and be ok, but something must have short circuited and it will no longer function. My second machine will not run either, it has no pressure from the steam wand. I have tried descaling, but no luck. Both machines died almost exactly 1 year later from date of purchase.
I recently purchased another comparable brand name machine and it shut down within a few weeks. I got this machine and didn't see a lot of reviews and was so nervous to have another machine that was going to not function well. It has been only 1 day and I feel compelled to write a review so if anyone else is contemplating as much as I was they can have another review helping them to make their decision.
The parts for this machine are quality... the pieces have weight to them and aren't cheap plastic, there is more metal, which I am a fan of. The machine looks nice and I love that there is a warming tray on the top. I also like that once you press the button to pour your espresso shot it shuts off automatically once the water cycles through, my other machine did not do that.
Lastly, the steam wand is excellent. My other machine barely had enough power to froth milk. I had to remove the guard on the wand in order for it to function. This steam wand is superior, it is longer, you can move it around easier, and the power on it is excellent.. it is very strong! I am so pleased with this machine, and it has only been a few hours since I have had it... if anything changes I will update, but for now... 10/10!!!
