I really like this keyboard so far, I bought it to use on my android TV box and it works great. I am using it on my laptop right now and might keep it on the laptop and buy another one.
It is nicer than I thought it would be. It has a quality feel and weight the keyboard is nice, it feels well made. It is comfortable to use, the touch pad works great, the multimedia keys are nice and the scroll wheel is a bonus, the Bluetooth connected right away on both devices using Ctrl/Fn to get it into pairing mode. I have not tried the USB dongle.
I only received this yesterday so I will update if need be.

After doing some research on the different Rii wireless keyboards so I can use with my �鶹�� Firestick, I finally pulled the trigger on the Rii i4. Here is my review so far and I'll update this as I start to use it. As I'm writing this, I'm fully charging it for first use.

1) packaging looks good.
2) documentation looks professional and easy to read. Probably the best I've seen. The font is actually sized properly for older people!
3) The remote feels good on the hands.
a) the backlight is easy to turn on and looks great in the dark.
b) the left and right red buttons on top seems to be ok. A little light on click. I can see myself accidentally clicking on things on screen. Rii should make this more firm so that these buttons are not pressed accidentally when bumped.
c) The button presses feel great - way better and more firm than those 2 red buttons at the top. Keyboard layout mostly matches the QWERTY full-sized keyboards.
d) The red scroll wheel feels good on the scrolling up or down.

After using the Rii i4 keyboard both with the USB dongle and the Bluetooth over the Christmas holidays, I really like this wireless keyboard. I've pretty much updated my initial rating from 4-stars to 5-stars (well round it up from 4.5 out of 5). The reason why I like this keyboard are:
1) It's backlit and clear.
2) All the functionality is there for the Firestick, even for play, rewind, fast forward, volume for video apps like the MX Player and for watching Youtube videos.
3) The Bluetooth connection is reliable and connects.

The battery charging takes 2 hours on initial charge. After almost a week, it's still functioning without further charging yet. It does go into sleep mode if not used after several minutes.

I thought the red mouse buttons would be an issue but it's fine. I wish that I can reprogram the right and left red buttons since my left hand isn't made for clicking the left mouse button. It's something I need to get used it. The red vertical scroll wheel is just great! Works for scrolling pretty much anything on the Android interface rather than using the up/down key presses. What's cool about any wireless keyboard is that you can actually go to anywhere on the text, place your cursor, and do select/copy/paste functionality that is missing on all the Firestick and Android TV remotes.

There are some really minor nuances but I do like this wireless Bluetooth keyboard, which I plan to use for other devices and computers other than just for the Firestick itself.

This keypad is definitely really good. I've had the opportunity to use it on and off for the past 25 days and I really like this keyboard. The pros definitely outweigh the cons on this mini wireless keyboard. I'll list them here:

Pros:
1) USB connection is quick
- I'm using this on a Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF computer hooked up to my entertainment center for streaming TV. This keyboard works like a charm. You can put the computer to sleep and wake the computer up as if the keyboard is actually there. The waking is instantaneous, especially if you have turned of the keyboard overnight and turned it back on or pressed one of the keys or scrolled up/down on the red scroller. So nice!
2) The keys light up automatically on use and they're bright! So, you can actually see the keys without any problems in dim light or totally in the dark.
3) All the keys do work and work well for the FireStick with the bottom row of Android keys for Menu (hamburger button), Home, and Back. The upper row for volume control don't work in Android systems but the all the buttons do work for Windows 10! What's also interesting is that if you run the BlueStacks Android emulator, all of those buttons also work with Android as well. However, if you use the MeMu emulator the top right buttons don't work (so, you have to use the mouse pad and the left and right buttons and ESC button to navigate the screens in the apps).
4) Bluetooth does connect within 5-10 seconds. The left blight becomes blue rather than green for USB connections. The functionality and responsiveness in Bluetooth is the same as in wireless USB. This is great for a device like the FireStick without any OTG adapters to plug into the device.

Cons:
1) On continuous use (I mean continuous for 5 hours over 2+ days), the remote's mouse pad gets a bit frustrating once the battery starts to get low. The green light keeps flashing but it flashes as you're using the keypad for each press or for moving the mouse cursor around. Once it's hooked up for charging, there's no problem. So, the battery lasts for 10-15 hours before it needs charging. It's not bad but can be better with the size of the battery it has. Still pretty good considering most people will likely use the remote for TV like a minute or two per TV viewing per day. I was using it to test my computer with emulators to see if I can make my PC into a streaming TV box!
2) The numeric/function key letterings are tiny! It's hard to see even with the backlight on. However, it's a small quibble.
3) Mouse pad, like any touch capacitive pad, when your fingers warms up the surface or when you start to have a bit of sweat, the touch pad get a bit unresponsive. It's also a small quibble since the unresponsiveness only happens rarely since my fingers get heated as I get frustrated with some of the settings in the Android emulators.

There you have it. The I do recommend this mini wireless keyboard as both the USB and Bluetooth function really well for the FireStick and for PC's and Android systems. My rating stands at the full 5-stars.

The Rii i4 is a pretty good keyboard - when the battery is not drained. However, the mouse pad functionality behaves erratically when the battery is low. When you glide your finger on the mouse pad, the green light starts flashing continuously and it will do so for like 10-15 seconds after the finger is lifted off the pad. Then, the green light starts flashing again to let you know the batter is low again. Really frustrating. I've noticed that with the backlit LED on, the lithium battery gets drain quite fast! You'll be lucky to get a couple of days worth of a properly functioning keyboard if you leave the backlight on and have the keyboard switched on at all times. I have a cheapo wireless USB keyboard without backlight and it's switched on continuously for days, even weeks, without having the battery drained and it's still functioning normally. I've since switched of the backlight and have the Rii i4 keyboard turned off until I need to use it. I'll manually switch on the backlight if I need to use it in a dim or dark room setting. That seems to be better where I'm getting hopefully a week's use without recharging. The other annoying factors are the arrangement of some of the keys and buttons. I wished the number/special characters/Fn keys above the QWERTY letters are similar to the Rii i8/i8+ keyboard or a regular keyboard. They're misplaced or offset by one key to the left because of the ESC button. The navigation buttons at the top left and right of the mouse pad should've been swapped. The only thing that's really great is the red scroll wheel, which is in the right place. I've also noticed that the back button doesn't always work, especially if I turn off and on the remote to save battery power.

I've down-graded the ratings for this keyboard from 5-stars to 3 stars because of my daily usage and finding some issues with it. I still like the keyboard, but it can be better, especially with the rechargeable lithium battery. If Bluetooth headsets can operate for 50-70 hours, I can't see why Rii can't provide a lithium battery that'll last just as long or even longer.

I decided to provide more feedback for this mini keyboard. After using another generic mini backlit keyboard which I got really frustrated with, I switched back to the Rii i4 mini keyboard. I have to say that after switching back to this keyboard, it feels good, has the vertical scroll wheel that's so easy to use, numbers and QWERTY keys are not offset from standard keyboard, and the right/left mouse buttons on top. I actually miss using this keyboard after being so frustrated with the other Rii i8 knockoff mini keyboard I was using. When I turn on this Rii i4 keyboard, it also turns on my computer whereas the other keyboard doesn't do that. Yeah, I still am a bit disappointed about the battery life being short and that the navigation wheel buttons are on the left side. But, this Rii i4 mini keyboard is probably the best I've used. So, I've upped the star rating from 3 to 4.

After doing some research on the different Rii wireless keyboards so I can use with my �鶹�� Firestick, I finally pulled the trigger on the Rii i4. Here is my review so far and I'll update this as I start to use it. As I'm writing this, I'm fully charging it for first use.

1) packaging looks good.
2) documentation looks professional and easy to read. Probably the best I've seen. The font is actually sized properly for older people!
3) The remote feels good on the hands.
a) the backlight is easy to turn on and looks great in the dark.
b) the left and right red buttons on top seems to be ok. A little light on click. I can see myself accidentally clicking on things on screen. Rii should make this more firm so that these buttons are not pressed accidentally when bumped.
c) The button presses feel great - way better and more firm than those 2 red buttons at the top. Keyboard layout mostly matches the QWERTY full-sized keyboards.
d) The red scroll wheel feels good on the scrolling up or down.

After using the Rii i4 keyboard both with the USB dongle and the Bluetooth over the Christmas holidays, I really like this wireless keyboard. I've pretty much updated my initial rating from 4-stars to 5-stars (well round it up from 4.5 out of 5). The reason why I like this keyboard are:
1) It's backlit and clear.
2) All the functionality is there for the Firestick, even for play, rewind, fast forward, volume for video apps like the MX Player and for watching Youtube videos.
3) The Bluetooth connection is reliable and connects.

The battery charging takes 2 hours on initial charge. After almost a week, it's still functioning without further charging yet. It does go into sleep mode if not used after several minutes.

I thought the red mouse buttons would be an issue but it's fine. I wish that I can reprogram the right and left red buttons since my left hand isn't made for clicking the left mouse button. It's something I need to get used it. The red vertical scroll wheel is just great! Works for scrolling pretty much anything on the Android interface rather than using the up/down key presses. What's cool about any wireless keyboard is that you can actually go to anywhere on the text, place your cursor, and do select/copy/paste functionality that is missing on all the Firestick and Android TV remotes.

There are some really minor nuances but I do like this wireless Bluetooth keyboard, which I plan to use for other devices and computers other than just for the Firestick itself.

This keypad is definitely really good. I've had the opportunity to use it on and off for the past 25 days and I really like this keyboard. The pros definitely outweigh the cons on this mini wireless keyboard. I'll list them here:

Pros:
1) USB connection is quick
- I'm using this on a Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF computer hooked up to my entertainment center for streaming TV. This keyboard works like a charm. You can put the computer to sleep and wake the computer up as if the keyboard is actually there. The waking is instantaneous, especially if you have turned of the keyboard overnight and turned it back on or pressed one of the keys or scrolled up/down on the red scroller. So nice!
2) The keys light up automatically on use and they're bright! So, you can actually see the keys without any problems in dim light or totally in the dark.

I really like the improvements made in this keyboard compared to the several, much older, mini-USB input (which came before micro-USB, which was the generation before USB-C), Rii, mini keyboards I own.
They still work, but wireless range/signal has started to suffer, as well as battery life, but is expected being around 10 years old.
The top left/right mouse click buttons, the directional pad, the red scroll wheel, and dedicated volume buttons are all great improvements.
Buttons feel better and still have backlight as well.
It's really great for modern, media PC's.
If this model/unit is anything like the other Rii mini keyboards I've owned in the past, it will hold up for many years.
