I鈥檝e been using these little Rii remotes for years. With various TV media boxes. This is my third!
First one purchased (year unknown); only had to replace it because the dog chewed it! Second one purchased in 2018 and still works great for the exception that we broke the charging port. It still charges, I just have to hold the cable which lead me to the purchase of this one!
This one is shaped differently. Rectangular . It鈥檚 not as comfortable to hold as the original ones but honestly, I鈥檓 not holding on to it for long periods of time. It also seems to be a little more sensitive. Sometimes when I push the volume button, the video jumps back 10 seconds. Not every time, but it has happened. I am pleased though that they changed the charging port to usb-c . The batteries hold a charge! In this house, we charge it once a month (roughly, it can be longer). We do only use it for tv use and so that is dependant on how much we watch tv! We also like that backlight on the keyboard. Lights automatically turn off after x=n minutes of disuse. We keep the lights on, but it does have the function to turn them off.
I am overall satisfied with this brand of remote. I鈥檒l actually pay a little extra than the cheaper ones only because I鈥檝e known them the last !
