How to operate the PS-3?

They respond and feel exactly like my Sony controller except that the joysticks and bumpers actually feel a bit sturdier. They've never gotten stuck like the L1 on one of my old Sonys one did. The only part that doesn't seem to work is the motion controls but that has never been an issue for me because the old games I replay didn't seem to incorporate them often and always provided alternate options.

    I originally purchased this with the intent to use it on my PC for emulation and couldn't figure out the 3rd party BT drivers (no points deducted) so I dug up my PS3 - which hasn't been used for 3 years - to see if they at least worked as advertised.

    For the price I paid for a pair, my expectations weren't exactly high considering my original use for them. They really do FEEL like the 1st party controller but as expected the useful range of motion on the sticks was less than ideal. Still though, I am by no means a competitive player and rarely play anything online at all on PC and they will function just fine for me. Will they for anyone else? Can't answer that.

    Incidentally, I am able to use it on my PC via USB cable - just not the included 3ft cable. No points deducted for this, just throwing that out there.

    I still haven't checked if the face buttons are pressure sensitive but my gut tells me based on the way the buttons bottom out indicates to me they are purely binary in nature.

    Overall I'd give 4.5 stars but that rounds off to 5.

    they showed up. there were two controllers. there were wires to plug them in. thats where it ends. they refused to connect to bluetooth (though that was probably due to the bt dongles also being scam products) but when wired neither controllers dpads or action buttons responded to input, neither triggers nor bumpers worked, and despite being called "DUAL SHOCH" (implying dual shock) there are no motors. so I bought these based on a couple of factors; 0 (zero because this is a given and should not be counted but they still messed it up): THE BUTTONS SHOULD WORK. 1: they are bluetooth or wired 2: they vibrate.
    so i feel pretty obviously scammed and what can we do about it? nothing! because it comes from soviet china! where rules dont apply since they're a "developing nation"

    Like a few of the other reviewers they were not able to connect their controllers to their PS3. I just finished trying to get mine to connect (using the USB connection cable it came with) for the last 45 minutes without success. Restart PS3, connect cables, tried each USB port, reset the controller like 8 times etc. etc. and then stumbled upon another post that suggested using a proper "data" USB to miniB cable like you would use for an SD card reader for example (which where I got my cable from). Low and behold, reluctantly plugged it in and bam, we're good to go! Obviously the provided cables are just cheapo cables and are not strong enough to carry the data quality. If you're having issues or perhaps shipped some craptastic cables like I was, well here is your solution. Thanks to the other post, got it from another website.... Happy gaming!

    Both of my controllers work well on my PS3.
    I'd recommend it as a much-cheaper alternative to the original PS3 controllers.
    This particular one has the proper dead-zone so the analog controls are the expected responsiveness. (common problem with the cheaper alternatives),
    though it is slightly worse when compared with a real original PS3 controller.

    When it gets purchased also influences the quality of the controllers.
    I purchased one before during the winter (cold weather) and it arrived with sticks that get stuck.
    This purchase in contrast, was made during the summer (hot weather), and there were no problems with the controllers.

    I also found that one of the controllers appeared to stop working nor be able to charge, and I was about to return it.
    But fortunately that's an easy fix by holding down the reset button in the back of the controller, as also mentioned in the product details.
