Would’ve given this 5 stars as it is a great product but unfortunately it is mislabelled and that is a huge issue for me. To start with the positive, the product is beautifully designed making it nice to leave on the counter when not in use. It also works great. It is completely idiot proof making it easy for anyone to use. And the rice comes out perfectly every time. The pot itself is non stick making it very easy to rinse and clean. Unfortunately the con to this product is that it’s labelled as 8 cup and it’s definitely NOT 8 cup. I tried to make 6 small cups (see attached photo) and it kept telling me to remove some weight because of danger of overflow. Firstly, I’ve been making rice all my life. That is NOT going to overflow. There should be a bypass to allow to cook even after the warning. This is a huge issue for me if I can’t make more than 3 small cups considering I have a large family. To pay the amount it costs for something that can’t make more than 3 small cups is very disappointing.

There is no need to measure rice and water or calculate rice/grain cooking times; ensure the water reservoir is filled, and then dump the rice into the rice cooker. On the cooker display, read the questions and select the options available to the user. You're an expert if you can read and push the applicable buttons. EASY PEASY. My husband is constantly rolling his eyeballs at what he calls my whimsical gadget purchases. No whimsy is involved; this rice cooker cooks rice up unbelievably fast and perfectly. The Kitchen Aid Rice Cooker does not promote eye-rolling by my husband. He loves it.

    The ease and convenience of making rice, beans, grains in this KitchenAid is unbelievable, I love it! Rather than get just a basic rice cooker, I went with the multi-use unit and I'm so glad I did. No measuring, just add your ingredients, add water and select what you're cooking, the machine does the rest, perfectly adding the right amount of water and cooking it for the right amount of time.
    The keep warm function is excellent as well, I had started my rice and was behind on other things, the rice stayed perfectly done almost half an hour until we served it

How amazing would it be to just have to add your grain, fill the water dispenser, choose what you are making and push the button. Well that is exactly what it did! I could never get rice, whether it be brown, white, whole grain, wild, etc. to turn out It is easy to use, just choose what you are making, and push the button. My rice was either mushy or too hard. It was always the one part of any meal I made that was a hit or a miss. Well, not any more. This works fantastic and I am so glad I took a chance on purchasing this. Now I cook like a chef! The zojirushi was old and I wanted to upgrade the technology. No regrets in buying this rice cooker.

    I was surprised at how valuable it was giving a smart machine the decision of exactly how much water to add and actually adding that water. The consistency of the results are excellent. It's not just rice. Same goes for oats, lentils, and everything else this is programmed for. Big price, but great buy in the end.

    One issue I have had is with streaming. The unit can't tell that you've just streamed something and the pot is full of hot water ready to steam again. So if you want to steam more things, the device will fill the pot with cold water and start the process of heating it up all over again. This is a pretty strange quirk. But if you can get over this, you'll enjoy the prefect oats and rice and farro every single time. And as with other rice and grains cookers, you can do the steaming at the same time you cook the rice or grains.
