Product description
Popular in Eastern Europe, Buckwheat Groats are the hulled seeds of buckwheat. Often referred to as "Kasha", Roasted Buckwheat groats have a more robust flavour than raw groats. Kasha can be cooked and enjoyed as you would rice, but is commonly eaten as a hot breakfast cereal. Inari Buckwheat Groats are high in fibre and a source iron, while being low in sodium and naturally gluten free. And remember, if it's Inari it's organic.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on 鶹. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I've had good kasha before, but for some mysterious reason that is not labeled on the package, this stuff turns into straight gluey mush when you boil it. Should plump up into nice fat grains with a small amount of firmness to the chew. This stuff just turns into spackle. Bleugh.
couldn't find this in any supermarket. Finally found here. Package price is a little steep but not bad as these grains really puff up. Used half package per meal. Will b uy again.
***update*** Figured out how to do it so it's not mush. Ignore the instructions on the bag. Boil 2 cups of water with a pinch of salt. Throw in the buckwheat. When it returns to a boil, just turn off the stove and cover it. Come back a while later. Voila, not mushy.
It's got a good flavour. Stuff turns to mush instantly if you follow the directions.
You can eat this toasted buckwheat cold after a quick rinse, perhaps with some milk... like a breakfast cereal. Or you can boil it and make a nice thick porridge.
If you want something that stands up to cooking and gives you intact kernels, this is not it. Find a roasted buckwheat. The brands I know and like are S&F and Yarmarka (Ярмарка).
Turns into Mush, smells and tastes like it was burnt. I barely started boiling it and the grains all became a mush while it smelled as if I had burned the grains at the bottom of the pot (I had not).
DO NOT BUY! This is garbage, and that is where it ended up in our household. Absolute waste of money.
I absolutely love the smell, taste, crunch & the nutritional value. I use it on my fruit & yogurt as well as add it to my cereal and when I make home-made grain bread. The best price is here at 鶹 with my Prime membership I got 5$ off when I ordered 3pks. Can I get a Wow!!!
