About this item

  • Multi-Protocol Smart Hub with Matter Bridge – The M100 is a versatile smart hub compatible with Aqara Zigbee (** 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝-𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐙𝐢𝐠𝐛𝐞𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬) and Thread devices, supporting up to 20 Aqara Zigbee devices and 20 Thread devices. As a Matter Bridge, it connects Aqara Zigbee products to other smart home ecosystems, compatible with Apple Home, 鶹 Alexa, Home Assistant, etc.
  • Advanced Matter Bridging for Seamless Smart Home Integration – The M100 enables Aqara’s unique features, such as facial recognition and complex automation, to work across Home Assistant and other Matter ecosystems. Expand your smart home with Aqara or third-party Matter devices (requires a Matter-enabled hub). ***Note: Some device-specific stats (e.g., power consumption metrics, custom sensor data) may not be reportable via Matter due to protocol limitations.
  • Local Automation for Reliable Performance – Supports local execution of automations for Zigbee and Matter devices, ensuring smooth operation even without Wi-Fi or cloud access. Enjoy millisecond-level response times for a more stable and reliable smart home experience. (Some automation, such as cloud push notification, will still require the cloud connection to be executed.) ***Note that for a stable connection, please place M100 within 6 meters of the router.
  • Flexible Power & Small Size – Features a universal USB-A port for power and data, allowing connection to power banks, wall outlets, PCs, or routers for a simple and quick setup. The Hub M100's shaft can be adjusted within a 210-degree range, making its placement extremely flexible.
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 for Faster & Security—This product supports a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 wireless network connection, which enables more efficient connections with advanced WPA3 security. Wi-Fi 6 ensures smoother performance even in high-traffic environments, allowing multiple devices to connect without compromising speed or reliability.

Aqara Smart Hub M100
  • No. Platform support varies. Full status reporting varies by platform (Apple Home > Google Home > Alexa). Note: Some device-specific stats (e.g., power consumption metrics) may not be reportable via Matter due to protocol limitations.

  • Our Hub converts only core properties (e.g. on/off status, temperature readings) through Matter's official clusters. Metrics requiring manufacturer-specific clusters, like power consumption history, lack universal support in the Matter ecosystem.

Aqara brand model M100 Smart Hub - did not recognize my Zigbee 3.0 protocol Smart Plug

Aqara brand model M100 Smart Hub - did not recognize my Zigbee 3.0 protocol Smart Plug
While searching for an appropriate Zigbee protocol Hub, I was very pleased to discover this compact 2.4GHz WiFi-6 Multi-protocol Bluetooth-enabled model HM-G02E USB-A Zigbee & Thread Smart Hub ( see photos for product, Specifications, and Instructions ) compatible with Aqara, Thread, and Zigbee devices. ‘Child’ devices are added via the ‘Aqara Home’ App available for IOS and Android. Optionally, the M100 device is also HomeKit-enabled. After downloading the Aqara Home App ( on to both an old iPad mini, and a Samsung Galaxy A15 phone ), registering for an Account tied to my email address and creating a password, I struggled for quite a while, but was eventually able to pair the M100 device to the App. Unfortunately, no matter how many methods used, I was unable to get the M100 or App to recognize and pair with a third-party Zigbee Smart Plug ET12 ‘child’ device having Zigbee 3.0 protocol. If it is known that similar products are not compatible with the M100, potential buyers should clearly be made aware of the limitation within the product listing. The Smart Hub is claimed to be compatible with numerous listed third-party smart-home ecosystems and Apps, supports execution of automations for Zigbee and Matter devices within the local area network, and is powered via USB-A cable plugged into a user-supplied common 5V power adapter, power bank, PC etc. The included manuals offer QR Codes to scan for direct access to the online User Manual, Installation Video, and App downloads.

I bought this item to be able to use my U50 lock with both HomeKit and Home Assistant, without losing access to features like the home key in the Apple Wallet app. The documentation does not specifically state that it works with the locks, like the other hubs do. I am pleased to report this works great with my Aqara U50 lock. The setup was a little finicky but I attribute that to my unique setup. Great buy!

    Pros:

    - It’s compact and lightweight which makes it really easy to fit behind furniture or plug into random outlets without it looking awkward or messy. Doesn’t take up much space at all.

    - Setup was straightforward using the Aqara app. Once I got it added to my account, it was easy to pair my sensors and switches. Took me under 10 minutes including firmware updates.

    - I like that it uses USB-A for power which gives a lot more flexibility for where you can plug it in. I actually have mine running off my router's USB port.

    - Local automation is a big win for me. Even when my Wi-Fi goes down for a few minutes, the lights and motion sensors still work instantly.

    Cons:

    - The documentation is pretty weak and doesn’t give enough info about which third-party Zigbee devices are actually compatible. I had to search forums to find out.

This hub worked fine as a standalone hub but when I tried to connect it to my SmartThings network via Matter, it just failed. When I was prompted to scan the matter QR code, it said the code was wrong. I scanned all the QR codes on the packaging with the same result. I really don’t know what to make of that.

The user manual didn’t help much as it was very sparse so I had to try to use the “help” option from within the app to figure out stuff but it still felt as if I was missing some info to help get things working properly.

I’ll continue to test it out but no tie-in to SmartThings is a dealbreaker for me, because I am not about to switch my main smart hub anytime soon.

This is a Zigbee smart hub that suppose to work with Zigbee devices via Zigbee wireless protocol and connect to smart home solutions via Wi-Fi. It has a simple USB power connector that can be plugged into any USB-A power adapter of USB-A port on computer. After installed the app on my iPhone, I can see the smart hub. However, I cannot make it detect my Zigbee smart plugs. The app shows it is scanning but can’t find any Zigbee device near it until timed out. There are many devices listed in the app that will work with this Zigbee hub but unfortunately my Eightree Zigbee smart plug is not in the list. My Zigbee smart plug support Zigbee 3.0 protocol. I am not able to find what is the supported version of Zigbee protocol by this Zigbee smart hub from either the package/manual of the product or from the product website.
I am disappointed by the limited support device list and lack of information of the product. Don’t get disappointed too unless you are sure you have the Zigbee device that it supports.

This smart hub from Aqara mostly does what I expected it to do. You can control your Aqara devices, it works as a hub for zigbee and thread devices, and can also act as a Matter controller. It cannot work as an integrated Matter hub directly though. I've tried adding some of my Matter devices to the hub as child devices, but they would only be added as Matter device to the Aqara Home app, outside of the hub. This means that they wouldn't sync to my Google Home, and could only be controlled through the Aqara Home device. Basically, you'll need a proper Matter-enabled hub outside of this hub to control your Matter devices.

The app itself is also not the most convenient to use, as it has many menus and options that aren't always super clear, and sometimes written in a way that looks like it was just straight translated from another language.

Still, for the price, if it meets your need, it's a solid device. It's just not as versatile as I hoped it was based on the description.

This works fine in my limited testing. It was easy to connect it with the app and then connect ZigBee devices with it. It's very small and portable which allows you to move around without power socket.

Bien moins cher qu'un hub Aqara M3, et largement suffisant me concernant, gérant toute ma domotique au travers de Home Assistant

The Aqara Hub M100 is impressively compact and blends in beautifully with a modern setup. It supports Zigbee 3.0, Thread, Matter (over bridge), and even Wi-Fi 6, making it a versatile smart home hub. Setup was smooth, and it’s been working flawlessly with my Aqara devices. For its size and capability, definitely worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes Aqara Matter devices stable!!! Buy it!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 4, 2025

I have an Aqara U200 Door Lock and an Aqara P2 Window and Door Sensor in our home. These were connected and controlled via Matter using Google Home Hubs as Thread Border Routers. The problem is the connection kept dropping meaning the automation set up in Google Home app wouldn't work and the door would auto lock on closure.
I didn't want to pay £130 for an M3 hub but when this M100 was released at £29.99 I figured it was worth a punt.
I've now deleted both the U200 and P2 from the Google Home and the Aqara app and then added them back to the Aqara app again. I've made the M100 the matter controller for the U200 and then added them back to Google Home. Note that the M100 joined the existing Google nest thread network.
Now I've set the auto lock automation up in the Aqara app instead.
Since doing the above both the U200 and the P2 have maintained a stable connection over Matter and are always accessible in both Google Home and Aqara. In short it's done everything I hoped it would. Highly recommended!!
