    We have been purchasing this oat fibre for several months now. It's a great way to get extra fibre in your diet. Lots of ways to use it: add a small amount to savory dishes or use it as a thickener; replace a portion of flour in baking; add it to your morning oatmeal; drink it with water like metamucil. The flavor is earthy but pleasant, stronger than oatmeal but still oat. Most North American diets don't provide enough fibre, so do yourself a favor and get some oat fibre -- your gut will thank you!

    I mistakenly used this in place of oat flour in my oatmeal cookies as I put the wrong labelled lid on my canister. I baked them anyway. They turned out to be a great oatmeal fibre cookie!! And gluten free if you use gluten free oats. A couple of these and they are better than metamucil!!! And not hard on your system as well. Regarding the calorie content - this fibre is not digested BUT the government regulations makes them put the calorie count on it anyway, even though you don’t really digest it. (Google how they determine the calorie content of things). I learned this from Metamucil when I wrote to them about why there were calories in their Metamucil.

    I'm LOATHE coconut flour and I started to find recipes that called for oat fiber, vital wheat gluten and psyllium husk instead. What a night and day difference. Yes, this bag is expensive, but when you're only using, at most, 1/2 cup for an entire loaf of bread, it lasts quite some time. It took me almost a year to get through the bag. In terms of flavour, I really can't tell. All the other ingredients in whatever I use this in by far overpowers whatever it alone imparts. The bread I use it in comes out the closest to the "real deal" I've managed to make since having to go low carb. It's kind of a must have if you have to eat low carb but still want to bake AND avoid the dreaded almond/coconut flour route.
