I have a Bose QC 35 II Gaming headset, and the removable boom microphone's TRRS jack isn't recognized by my work laptop or personal laptop but is recognized by some of my other PCs.
I didn't want to have to bring the headset's control unit (which is bulky and heavy for what it is) in my bag or use Bluetooth (can't use the boom microphone except with the wire), so I bought this adapter, hoping it would solve my issue.
'Lo and behold, it works perfectly. I can now use my headset wired to any PC via USB-A and leave my headset's control unit at home. If you need USB-C connectivity you'll need to provide your own adapter, or buy a headset to USB-C adapter.
The sound quality in and out sounded good when I made a test call on Teams. If you just need it as a "sound card" substitute, I imagine that it will be just fine.
Overall the unit is pretty nice. It feels solid in hand, and the cable has a nicely braided sheath.
