The generic ones available on 鶹 will damage your fridge and I found out the hard way after having to replace the water line and part that the water filter screws into. LG designs their fridges so that generic filters will wreck your fridge. ($406 repair)
The good news is the filter does not need to be changed very often especially if you live in a city with good water and if your water is already run through a water softener. You can probably reset the filter 3 times before you actually need to replace it if your water supply is like ours.
REASONS FOR LOSING A STAR!
1. -1 Item description is wrong.
2. -1 Slow to ship item.
3. -1 Item arrives damaged or defective.
4. -1 Poor quality or workmanship.
5. -1 Lousy communication.
