  I bought this for snorkelling. I didn’t use the larger strap but have used to one attached to it. It floats really well which is good as my biggest concern is dropping the go pro and having it sink to the bottom of the ocean. It makes it a bit cumbersome but definitely worth the peace of mind! I did take it for a test run in shallow water to make sure it floats and it does and is very visible on the water
