  Receiver-Transmitter devices like this are useful in connecting with devices that have an audio jack, but don't offer the Bluetooth connectivity. The obvious example is the airplanes, but you can use them with many other devices too, such as a portable speaker system with an audio jack.
  
  It can work both ways: as a receiver, letting you send music via Bluetooth to a speaker with an audio jack, or the opposite, as a transmitter, letting you receive sound via Bluetooth from a device with an audio jack, such as an in-fight entertainment system in an airplane.
  
  I have other similar devices, but this one steps into the premium category with its OLED screen. In addition, it also comes with an adapter for certain in-flight entertainment systems with double jacks. I highly recommend this, but if you want to spend less, you can also check the models without a display.
