I have spent years fighting with the spring and bar type snap traps. They're always going off when I place them down. I don't like handling them with a dead mouse in them either, so for me they are one time use products that end up in the trash and the cost adds up. I learned about these press and set style plastic snap traps and decided to order a set and see how they compared. They're great! We caught 2 mice and 3 short tailed shrews in them on the first night. I recommend setting them with the jaws facing the wall and placed right up against the wall so that the trigger is right in the mouse's path even if it doesn't stop for the bait. Set them in pairs too so you catch any other mice that come along to investigate the first mouse. They were so easy to set. They didn't go off unexpectedly, but they're also sensitive enough that everything that explored the bait got snapped. Opening them to toss away the dead mouse was also very simple and I never had to touch a mouse with my hands. I started a successful night of mouse trapping with 6 traps and I finished with 6 traps. No more tossing traps! I am very happy and have ordered 2 more sets.
