I am not an artist, nor have I used fabric paints of any type before, however, since I had time on my hands, I thought it might be fun to decorate a few old shirts. I ordered the fabric markers and left them in my office for 2 months before testing them. Then I read the back of the package...uh oh. I did not store them horizontally as suggested. Nonetheless, the markers worked well and were not dried out. Phew. Before using them on better clothing, I decided to do a test run. I got a plain mask, taped it onto my desk to flatten, and drew away, using different colours of markers. I realized that I hadn't put anything underneath, also suggested on the packaging, but there was no seepage through. The fabric on the mask, was a bit different, rougher, and more porous than I would normally use, so I had to go over my design twice. The colours were lovely and vivid, although not all were 100% the same as the marker lid. I thought I was making the bird turquoise but perhaps that's just my perception of the colour. I think this is a great product. SUGGESTIONS : 1. If you're picky, test the colours first before use. 2. Make sure you snap the marker lids back on tightly. They make a sound. 3. Don't use a fabric with texture or anything fuzzy. I found it sticks to the marker tip.
