Overall this is a great lens and may take getting used to if you have never used anything but the 18-55 especially in Macro mode! Performance is as expected from a Nikkor lens even on shots that would generally get motion blur you get a sharp image at full zoom! The moon shot was taken at full zoom with VR on something that would be very difficult to get without a tripod on and non VR lens at the shutter speed and aperture used for the shot, was shot at 1/30, f5.6! This is a good budget lens for sports or nature but the 18-300mm would be better due to better zoom capabilities for both sports and Wildlife but it makes a great general purpose lens And I would recommend this lens!
