Customer Review

Nice controller, apart from the Xbox 360 controller with it's reliability and support for almost any game, the Dualshock 4 in an amazing choice. It uses wireless Bluetooth 4.0 and works with many Bluetooth dongles. (Just make sure to confirm that it's compatible. Toshiba stack and CSR dongles don't work.) I like the d-pad, it's really nice. Especially compared to the Xbox's controller. A lot closer to Nintendo's. The face buttons are nice but just a little too spread apart for my liking. Again, Nintendo's face buttons are just a little bit closer together.

The analog sticks though are really amazing. They have a wide range of motion and feel pretty good compared to my 360 and Wii U gamepad and Switch joycons. Also, the left and right triggers are full analogue but they don't click when pulled all the way. Nothing major but I enjoy my Steam controller's satisfying slick on it's triggers.

The DS4 also carries audio through Bluetooth but I've never had a need to use it.

If you do want to play a lot of older games with the DS4 though they don't support it. There is a program that solves that problem though, DS4Windows. It will connect your DS4 and make games recognize it as a 360 controller. So far it hasn't failed me once.

My only complaint now would be the poor battery life. While my DS3 would last for ages, the DS4 needs charging after only a few hours.

Overall, the DS4 is a pretty nice controller but it's poor battery life can't be excused and it costs a bit too much for my liking. I'd only buy it if it is on sale. Wouldn't spend more than $50-60 CAD on it.
