Protecting account information

To ensure privacy and security, we can only share account details or take most actions related to an account when the request comes from the authorized estate manager.

If you can't provide all the required documents for authorization, we can still assist with:

  • Terminating subscriptions
  • Stopping recurring deliveries
  • Deactivating the account

For support regarding these topics, please email bereavement-support@amazon.ca. Be sure to include the death certificate and the email or phone number associated with the account.

You have access to the email address or phone number associated with the account

If you have access to the email address or phone number associated with the account, you can:

  1. Sign in to the account to manage or close it.
  2. Reset the password using the Forgot password link.

You don't have access to the account

To request account information, close an account, or make changes without having access, verification is required. This verification ensures that we only act on requests from an authorized representative.

To verify your authority, we require the following:

  • A copy of the death certificate,
  • Proof of authorization showing you're the legal representative of the deceased's estate (such as a probate or executor documentation),
  • A valid photographic ID (such as a passport, driver's license, or ID card) of the authorized person, and
  • The email address/phone number linked to the 鶹 account.

If you don't know the email address, we need additional information to help us locate the account. This additional information could be, for example, a unique charge ID or order number. Those unique numbers can be found on delivery packages, confirmation emails, or payment statements.

Once you've gathered the required documentation:

  • Email it to bereavement-support@amazon.ca.
  • Our team will verify the documents and act on your request.

All documents will be securely deleted after validation.
