With a 9AH Dewalt battery (not included) this vacuum does a great job, powerful, not as powerful as say a Dyson V10 but then that's a $650+ vac (that lasts 20 mins on its tiny battery) and this thing is ~$200 assuming you already have DeWalt batteries for other tools.
With the battery installed, it is super unbalanced with all the weight on your wrist, bit of a shame they didn't put the battery attachment somewhere more forward. If wanting to use the wand, the wand is also not that long, could do to be longer for tall people! Hence I mostly use it two handed. Or, with the bendy tube in a messy area like where I was drilling, or the car, and put the main unit down whilst I work with the bendy tube.
Use it in place of my old tub shop vac, no brainer. Super happy with the purchase.
