Customer Review

Purchased this item to use with the Kitchenaid stand mixers. Experimented with three items, using both mixers (I have two available), one with the new wire whip, the other with the six-wire version that came with the mixer. First item was egg whites -- very light, not something that requires any straining. Got better volume with the stock whip. Second item was whipping cream -- a bit heavier than egg whites. Eleven-wire whip (this one that is being reviewed) had one wire move from alignment, and overall the cream took longer to whip and the volume was not as good as with the stock whip. Third item was very soft butter. Eleven-wire whip had several wires go out of place, with the result that the whip now had unevenly spaced wires. Again, the volume was better with the six-wire whip -- which certainly did not bend in any way.

Additionally, the shape of this product is peculiar. It is not rounded, but rather elongated. So, it is almost like a rectangle for overall shape, than a circle. This means that one part reaches close to the edge, but upon rotation the other part does not. I suspect, but cannot prove, that this might be the reason for the failure to produce good volume in whipped items. The stock wire whip (six-wires) that came with the mixer is almost circular, creating an even, rather than uneven, mixing motion.

In short: not recommended. I returned the one I purchased.
