  So I like almost everything about this product. Since I upgraded from an old Dell ultra HD monitor that had there's that had a 5.1 surround sound jack for computer speakers I had to get this as a solution to maintain my 5.1 surround sound capabilities. This little box comes with alot of options. More than I need...currently.
  
  Anyways, big one to note. Restart right after driver instal. Then configure the speakers in the driver software that will appear in the task tray. And if you're going with a surround sound computer speaker package, disable digital audio out and inputs on that box so you can have volume control via windows. Then restart again. Should work smoothly after that. Full surround, volume control through windows and if you wanted to upgrade later to a full reciever and surround sound system then you can re-enable the digital input and output. But note that using the SPDIF you will have to rely on the reciever for full volume control
