  I really like the design and concept of this scoop, it's part funnel, part spoon, and it really does help you get your additives into narrower openings like bottles. You make sure the green panel is closed all the way to seal off the bottom of the funnel, scoop your protein powder/etc, hold it over your drink, and slide the green panel open using the moveable piece on the handle. It opens up and pours into your drink with no mess. That is, when it works. Mine gets stuck frequently, to the point where it's nearly impossible to slide the green trap door open once the scoop is full, and there's really not enough purchase on the sliding portion of the handle to wrench it open. So sometimes, I just end up spooning my protein into the drink the old fashioned way. I'm not sure if it's the material, the make, or just if I got a faulty one... it's a shame, because I really like the design.
