The effect of this bulb is really neat. It does somewhat accurately simulate the appearance of a flame. I was inspired to make my own sort of "lantern" to display it at home. I found a nice-looking glass food container at a dollar store, a lamp base from Ikea that I had kicking around, a bit of hot glue, and parchment paper, then voila! I can have the cozy effect of a fire in my apartment without burning the place down.
The light has three modes: solid, breathing, and flicker. They're selected just by turning the light off and on. The only downside I should mention is that the bulb does get a bit warm.
The unique appearance of this light gave me lots of ideas for how to utilize it. It's a really nice effect for a fairly low price. (at the time I purchased it was $16.99CAD)
