  This game is best played with 2-4 players. A decent kart racer, it's lack of any form of dedicated single-player mode (where you can select individual races) is hard not to feel. This is notable on multiplayer races as well, but less of an issue. The battles are terrific, and the N64 is designed for 4-player games. If you like multiplayer games and have other people to play with then this is a great pick-up game for anyone. Technically though, for kart racer fanatics (you should already be familiar with this series) you're better off getting Crash Team Racing for the PSX. Definitely the best kart racer from the era technically.
