I've tried the "paper" model kits and they weren't for me. Have you ever tried making tiny sushi out of paper, an x-acto knife and a Uhu stick? I wanted to put a bullet in my head. These brick kits are a fantastic - and doable - alternative. They're fun, no missing pieces, clear instructions and a wonderful end product. I've ordered 2 more.
As with any kit the lighting is kind of a pain - the wires are always a little too short or a little too long. My wires are visible inside sadly. One of the exterior lights didn't work in the end (despite testing ok initially) and it's impossible to fix at this point. So I learned to keep an eye on the lighting and test a few times before putting it all together. I did it in 3 days with a decent effort each day.
