  Do not use alcohol or ammonia (such as Windex) to clean this mirror. It will strip the plastic top layer and permanently damage the reflective surface. It is not glass, but plastic. Soap, water, and a cloth - that's it.
  
  My mirror is toast, but before my error, it was great.
