I bought these as a test speaker to test out my repair job on an amplifier with no left channel. After replacing the transistors on the left side it came back to life, sort of. Now that side is scratchy and sounds like an untuned radio station. I have done all I can do. I'll leave the rest up to a pro to fix. Why the Edifiers? Just in case I botched something up I did not want to short out a pair of Martin Logan ESL's. Anybody know a repairman in Windsor? It has been a month and the amp is now a boat anchor. I bit the bullet and purchased a used B&K amp. The reviews said it leaned a bit towards the bottom end and after I hooked up the Edifiers they were not wrong. These little buggers kicked some serious ass. I used them for a break in period for the new amp and I was very impressed. Not only was the bass in your face but the entire soundstage belied the size and price of these speakers. I was impressed. Are they Martin Logan's. Not by a long shot but if you are in the market for a realistic set for your TV surround sound or just to listen to your favourite tracks you would be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck. I am changing my rating to five stars.
