I fell down the stairs for the second time in two years, but at least they were carpeted this time. Still, having a sore tailbone sucks! The material for this ring is closer to that of a hot water bottle, not as thick, but still the same kind of rubber. Once inflated, it's quite comfortable and, so far, is holding my 200lb+ bulk comfortably.
The only drawback is the inflation valve. It's made of brass, sticks out at the rear of the ring, and doesn't depress into the product like the plastic inflatables. That's fine by me. However, it seems a really weird design that none of my pump adapters fit into. It twists open, much like a Presta valve for a bicycle tube, and the two pieces can separate and screw back together. But like I said, none of my adapters fit, so I ended up blowing it up by mouth, which really wasn't too hard except you have to keep your finger over the end while you take a breath so you don't lose any air. Seriously, it's 2022 and I think you can do better!
Anyway, overall it's (for me) a minor inconvenience on an otherwise terrific product. For anyone with respiratory issues it could be a major issue, though.
