- Reviewed in Canada on October 10, 2023I chose the De'Longhi EcoDecalk Descaler because I don't like the idea of putting harsher chemicals into my coffee machine. It is made from plant sourced lactic acid to deal with scale build-up rather than some other brands that use phosphates and commercial grade cleaning ingredients like citric acid and sulfamic acid with other commercial grade chemicals. I had to do some digging to find the Safety Data Sheet for De'Longhi EcoDecalk Descaler, but upon reviewing it I was happy to see it was only Lactic Acid from plants as advertised. For those using other descalers, I would challenge you to look up the Safety Data Sheet for those products before putting it in your coffee machine. Another thing I liked is how De'Longhi clearly marks the doses on the side of the bottle for quick and easy measuring, no more busting out the measurement spoons to get it precisely right. Pricing is on the higher side, but I feel okay paying a premium for a more eco-friendly product.
