- Reviewed in Canada on November 10, 2023I purchased this product after my usual/preferred hair detangler wasn't available. I chose it for cost & the name brand, which I have used & enjoyed in the past. The cost has become a waste of money now. I did read the comments on other reveiws & had noted how often greasy hair was mentioned. I simply hoped it wouldn't be the case for our use.
I find the scent too strong to send into a fragrance free space. We have people who are anaphylactic to fragrance in the office/class, & the 3 buildings we frequent most are fragrance free spaces. We can't use this if we need to go to any of those spaces because of lingering odour. The scent does fade after about 30-60 minutes, but when touching your hair, it comes off on your hands. The scent is typical of most hair detanglers I have used in the past, but I just find it stays longer & transfers, neither of which are needed. I won't be able to use this product in the warner weather, as it definitely attracts insects, especially the stinging variety & we have very serious heminoptera sting reactions in this house.
My biggest disappointment is how greasy it leaves hair. We have many different hair textures here & it has left the same residue, sticky feeling on all of them. I was very hopeful that even if 1 hair type couldn't use it, that another would. It leaves residue on all hair types. There seems to be a very fine line between not quite enough to do the job of detangling, but then 1 more spray leaves hair greasy, heavy & sticky. The comb / brush also becomes sticky & has to be washed with each use to remove the residue. Hair doesn't move naturally / freely, & it is obvious there is a product in it. The greasy feeling does subside through out the day, but as soon as hair is brushed again, it comes back. Once you have enough product in to get it working, it works ok, but the ability for it to do its job, is very much overshadowed by the presence of this product in the hair.
I would not recommend this product. I will be trying harder to find a product I have been using for over 2 decades, over this. I tried to fool myself that it would work after reading many negative reviews, but I have to admit failure.
