(see photo) I had previously bought a "1lb, 454 gm" butter dish from Canadian Tire and I couldn't close the lid! The only way for the butter to fit in the Canadian Tire dish would be to melt it, pour it into the lid section, have the melted butter fill in the sides and then that pound would fit (seriously C. Tire, why lie? okay, they didn't lie the manufacturer did, but still!) In the photo you'll see some of the foil off, I tear sections of the foil off as I go. It's lightweight, plastic, but that's okay, because that stupid other one was heavy and I was scared of dropping it. So yes! buy this and know that the pound will fit! Oh, and great price too, under $10.
